Good Evening,

I was at the local dog park, where my city allows dogs to run off the leash in a fenced dog area.

It was a Sunday, I was there for 30 minutes with my Doberman, and a guy just got there and walked past me with a can in his hand, did not think much of it. He had a small "Pug" with him.

Five minutes later I see my dog barking at his little dog, I ran over to put a end to it. As I get there, my dog, a child behind me were sprayed with Mace.

I told the guy if ever sprayed my dog or any other in the dog park and I was there I would kick his ***.

He went on to say that every time he comes to the park, his dog is picked on.

I am pissed, the child's father who got sprayed is pissed, I ended up leaving.

How would you have reacted to the situation.

Thanks,

Peter

My puppy is little, too young for the vaccine, according to the vet. 2 weeks she will be old enough. I just found 2 baby opossums in the back yard that she killed...what should I do? The vet is closed until tomorrow!

We just found a tic on my dog, and it was really big- like a big bump (you could hardly see it was a bug, just looked like a bump.) We got it completely off of him, but I am still very worried. I heard that tics can carry lyme disease. What should I do?

we recently got a well behaved dog from the adoption agency and we THINK he is crate trained enough b/c hes 3 months old already and was always in a crate his whole life and always went outside at the adoption place.

so what should i do when it comes to taking him out bathroom wise? i know after he eats we wait about 20 min but peeing wise i have no idea...but we've had him for 2 days and so far no accidents. i really appreciate the answers.

My 13 week old puppy has been been throwing up and has had diarrhea all day long. I plan on taking him to the vet first thing in the morning but I was wondering if someone can tell me if they think it's Parvo. He has had one set of shots so far. His diarrhea and vomit doesn't smell that bad, doesn't smell good either. I just remeber reading that Parvo has a "cancer" smell, like death. His gums are grey and his stool is a pastey light brown/greyish. His belly is bloated. Could it just be a bad case of worms? I need to know if this sounds like Parvo, because I have another puppy that I don't want to see get sick too. If it is Parvo any ideas on how to prevent the other from getting it? Thanks to all in advance

I feel, when used properly, they are an effective means of gradual correction for pulling when walking. I don't recommend use for punishment or any other reason though.

What are your feelings?

Yeah, so the question basically sums it up. I just don't see any of my neighbors walking their dogs as much as I do/my family does. So I was wondering if it's normal to walk a dog as much as I do.....

I adopted a nine month old beagle mix last Sunday. He's been a really "quiet" car dog, as he usually just sits there or lays down. He doesn't look out the window or jump around, and he hasn't had a ride longer than half an hour. He does start to sort of "drool" and drip sometimes, which he doesn't do normally.

Today, though, on a ride about 40 minutes long, he threw up about twenty minutes into it. I had fed him two hours before we got in the car.

When cleaning it up, however, I noticed a piece of a plastic coat hanger (pretty small, no longer than 3/4 of an inch, and 1/2 an inch wide) I'd caught him chewing on earlier. Could this be why he threw up?

He acted perfectly normal when we got out of the car, running and playing and chasing squirrels. His poop was normal looking right after, but he did have a small yellow-ish bowel movement maybe an hour later.

If carsick, how do I work on this? If the plastic, should I take him to the vet? I really don't think there is any more in him.

I have a small puppy that is 21/2 months old. She is half chihuahua, a 1/4 catahoula cow dog and 1/8 each black lab and cocker spanial, she seems very intellegent. I have a 2 yr old wolf hybred as well and 2cats she gets along with fine. My kids love her. I love her. Because she is a puppy we leave her in the bathroom while we are gone,( which isn't much someone is home most of the time)that is also where her food and water are. She doesn't potty in there which is great but she will tinkle just a little when my husband comes home ( he is a truck driver and generally home only on the wkends) and speaks to her, he is sweet to her. She loves him but he wasn't thrilled about my getting her.She goes when we take her outside. with only occassional mistakes on the floor (usally when we arn't paying enough attention. My husband is looking for an excuse to force me not to keep her. Is there a faster way to housebreak? How do I get her to stop the summisive pee? Any ideas?

My dog has really bad fleas and I don't like them as much as he does. They don't only go to him, but me too! I need to get rid of them, and fast. Is there any kind of medicine that I can put on him that will make the fleas go away and not try to bite me too?

i've been thinking about getting a show dog, but I have heard that you can ILP purebred rescue dogs and show them in Jouniors and at specialty shows 9I read in an AKC book that said that), but...
