Dogs get fleas anywhere, not just living in the country...
Also this is allergy season and all living creatures with allergies are suffering terribly. If she is scratching to the point that she is making her skin raw, then you better get her to the vet for treatment or you will have a worse problem on your hands when they get infected.
You can get better food than Iams brand, try Propac Premium Pet Food, they have a website and that puppy does NOT need any eggs or milkbones. If you have a high quality food you won't need to supplement anything. Try some carrot bites for a snack and get her to the vet for some allergy medicine or some Frontline to control fleas/ticks and other nasty buggers that lurk everywhere.
Good luck with your puppy!

dont listen to the people on here that are telling what to feed your dog
most dog food is good make sure you get a dog food with loads vitamins in!

Sounds like fleas to me. They are just as common in the city as anywhere else. Especially if you have sandy soil or the dog can get under the house/shed. Have a close look through the skin, especially the stomach, for fleas or flea dirt which is crusty black grain type stuff. Use a flea spray such as Frontline or Advantage which lasts for a long time through its residual effect. If this does not work then a vet will need to be seen due to likely skin mange problems.

I lived out in the country on a farm for five years, my dogs NEVER got a bad case of fleas. I moved into the city and the first summer there, my dog got them sooo bad she scratched all the fur off her bottom. It was horrible. Have her checked for fleas... you should even be able to see them yourself if they are bad... look under her armpits and on her tummy. If there are no fleas, then get her on flea prevenative... cus if she doesn't have them, she's just lucky! If it isn't fleas, then my next guess would be a food allergy. Take her to a vet. The vet will be able to give you a spray that will help treat the immediate problem, then help you treat the under lying problem.

If you think your pup may have fleas, just give her a bath with plain yellow joy dish detergent.Rub it in good and leave her soapy for a few minutes before rinsing. Make sure you rinse her really good or she'll get dry from the soap. If that doesnt work and she still scratches, I'd take her to the vet, maybe she just has allergies.Or maybe you can get some frontline for about 12 bucks for a dose.Good luck with your pup.

It could be fleas. I would give it K9 advanticks. It repels and kills them but if the dog doesn't have them it wont hurt it. Also I am glad to hear you are bathing it because if it has allergies, it washes everything off of its skin. Also try soaking each paw in water every night when the puppie is in the for night. That will help to itching as well.

No one will be able to give you a correct answer with even a 50% certainty. You would be better off going to the vet, have the dog evaluated, and get a good diagnoses. Scratching is symptomatic of hundreds of different conditions that range from inconsequential to life threatening. All dogs can get fleas, even house dogs.

I would get her to see the vet. She may have an infected skin rash that may need to be treated with an antibiotic. Dogs do get feas, but if you bathe her a lot the fleas die so the fleas are probably not is what is causing the terrible itch.

It could be a reaction to flea treatment that is applied between the shoulderblades. Did the vet do that at her last check-up. Sometimes dogs have reactions to that.
Also, Iams and Milkbones aren't that great. A lot of dogs are allergic to wheat and soy, which you find in a lot of foods. These cause reactions to the skin.
Dogs do get fleas in the city as well.

Its probably a food allergy. The most common one if corn. Most cheaper foods and treats contain corn. Your vet can do an allergy profile and suggest a new diet.
Cut down on the milk bones. Thats like you eating several candy bars a day.
