no!!! You cannot give your dog an aspirin. Aspirin can cause serious side effects in dogs including gastric ulcers, pancreatitis, liver problems, and even in some cases even death. It's not something that should ever be given to a dog.
If your dog is in pain there are safe pain killers for dogs, which you have to get through your vet of course, but those will not cause any side effects.
If its something like they feel weird today and its a just seems to be a simple sprain and you need something to keep the edge off till you get them to the vet tomorrow or see how they are doing tomorrow you can safely give them bendryl. The rule of thumb for that is 1mg per lb of dog, but of course always go on the lower side. If she is only 7.5 lbs if you have the children's kind, which is 12 mg you can give her half of one. If you have the adult kind which is 25 mg you can give her a fourth of one.
But please don't give her asprin! Take her to the vet tomorrow if she's in that much pain!

Do not give benadryl or tylenol or ibuprofen. Coated aspirin would be the only household pain med a vet would tell you to give... however, you have no idea how much to give. And I wouldn't suggest taking advice from the idiots on here (ok, so they're like 75% idiots, and if this offends you, then yeah, i'm talking about you!). Is there any way you could call a 24 hour, emergency veterinary hospital and ask? Even one not close to you would be fine as long as you could find a number. And they are usually very willing to help in situations like these! Good luck!

A baby asprin for your dog would be fine. I wouldn't use it for extended periods as it can cause problems. But for a get by till you can get something from your vet it would be perfectly fine. Many many vets prescribe it for dogs every day for arthritis. However it is highly acidic so make sure your dog only takes it on a full stomach. (wait till it eats and give it an asprin rolled up in some cheese, or a treat or something like that.)
Trust me, I would never recommend something that could potentially hurt your pet. People who are telling you it can harm your animal are misinformed. If used incorrectly it can, but many human meds are prescribed for pets every day when there is no alternatives.
P.S. I work in a vet clinic.

The only aspirin that my vet recommened for my dog with arthritis is buffered aspirin. But it needs to be buffered. Regular aspirin like tylenol is bad for dogs.

alot of vets do use aspirin as a pain reliever for dogs NOT cats and never ever give a dog a tylenol. i would highly recommend you consult your vet FIRST before you give him anything, especially with a dog that small.

HI Nancy,
You should never give your dog any human medicine until you have your vets ok. With a dog that small a baby asprin may be too much to give it.
Please check with your vet before giving your dog any OTC medications. OK

Baby aspirin is fine for a dog, but you should check with your vet for the proper dosage. Do not give it to a cat. One poster said to give Tylenol. Please DO NOT give any animal Tylenol or Ibuprofen products!!!! They can have devastating effects on the liver.

NO, not unless directed by a veterinarian to do so. By giving your dog a human medication it can cause severe GI tract upset in which will make them vomit, diarrhea, and be dehydrated.
