Most attacks that are claimed to have been caused by a pit bull, actually turn out to be another breed, but of course the original story remains unchanged.

see if you can spot a pit bull here:

http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/findpit.html

What are your feelings about your personal experiences with the animal, and please take the test to see if you can spot them.

Thanks

She is 5 months old Labrador and has decided that the door that divides the patio from the house ir the best place to pee. I have a 2 year old son that loves to be barefoot on the patio...needless to say what happens when he does...can I pour bleach or something like that so that she picks another place to pee?

I gotta admit, properly bred pit bull is a darn fine family dog.

Are you more enclined to one particular breed if given free choice of them? and what would it be if you are?

My son got a beagle 3 days ago. He saved money for 5 years to get this dog. He is 13, and this dog was his new best freind. For 2 nights, he would stay up late and coddle his six week old puppy. He went to a 2 day long camping trip, and the dog jumped out of a first story window, wandred into a neighbor's yard, and the poor mutt was shot and killed . I cannot sue the neighbor, it was on his lawn. I also cannot afford a new dog. My son will probably have a nervpus breakdown. Saving for five yars, and only getting to see his reward for two days. Please answer quickly, mean answers will be reported/

A lamp fell and startled her as a pup. She has now developede a phobia of all lights. (lamps, ceiling fans, flashlights, street lights, etc.) She is really scared and many times afraid to come in the roombecause of this. How can I teach her that it's ok?
She is scared of other things as well... she's very timid. but lamps seems to be the big problem.

I've want to volunteer my time to help pets in need, but I do not meet the age restrictions. At the humane society you have to be a minimum of sixteen years old to volunteer. I checked some of the smaller societies but the restrictions were ever higher. What else can I do to help the animals? We adopted one of our dogs from the humane society because they had him scheduled to be youthanized and he was still a young puppy. Our other dog was found off the streets and didn't have much longer to live. My parents have made it very clear that four animals is our maximum, besides fish. So is there anything else a younger person can do to help?

I have a 9 month old female Choc. Lab/Sharpei Mix. She went into her first heat (or I first noticed bloody discharge) about 1 1/2 weeks ago. She appears to be in the stage where she wants to breed (though she has no access to a male).

My specific question is about the amount of swelling she is experiencing in the area below the tail, pretty much between the actual vulva and the rectum. Is this normal? I've tried searching for a picture online, but I'm not finding what I need. I would say the swelling would just about equal 10 cm in diameter if she were a female woman in labor. Thats the only way I can describe it.
Thanks for any responses.

Seen two different vets. X-ray taken of digestive tract, blood tests ran, urine and feces tested. does drink some water. Vomits at 4:00 am yellow bubbley stuff. Got her on antibiotic, anti inflamatory, and something for stomach. Force feed here peanut butter ,vitamine rich paste, and dog similac. get a few drops down she protests. She does not vomit up force fed stuff. she is weak and walks gingerly

i was walking down my street with my dog, she is rather small about 25 lbs. when 2 huge mastifs came charging and barking at us. my first instinct was to lets my dog off her leash and let her make a run for it but i knew she was slower then the other dogs. i stood infront of her and yelled at the approaching dogs. when they came the ignored me and went right after my dog, i began screaming and kicking the other 2 dogs but they wouldn't let down. meanwhile my little dog was yelping and trying to fight back, i pulled the bigger ones ears and twisted them and that held him back for a second. finally the owner of the dogs came out and called off his dogs, my dog was fine she was just a little shaken. i was just wondering what i should do if anything like that happens again?
