Im so sorry that must be horrible to find. You are probably right, something outside might have gotten her. Just give the kittens brothers and/or sisters more love, the mother will realize soon that the baby is nowhere to be found. Just comfort her when she goes around the house crying. :(

A raccoon will kill a cat without hesitation! The neighbors cat was found under my boyfriends crawlspace of his house totally dismembered, it was recognizable from the color of the cat hair. He had a hard time telling the neighbor but when discussing it they both new there was a couple raccoons running around their houses at night. The mother will adjust-more so than not a mother will lose one out of a litter due to being the runt or something internal or not fully developed. A kitten that small should have been protected against outside predators just for a few weeks at least. Sorry about your loss.

Why was the kitten in the garage? A raccoon could do this buy why would it. This sounds like a Rat or a Dog My oldest dog ate the head of a squirrel he caught. Rats chew things. My money is on the Rat.

So sorry ....my neighbor once closed his electric garage door after being open all day ....little did he know that the cat had jumped up on the door and takin a nap....so when he shut it the cat started to run to the back thinking it could jump off the very top of the door....but the door meets the roof instead...headless cat.... try looking all over outside the garage just in case this happened to your kitten .. Again so sorry to hear about your kitten ....most people dont think to check if cats are on top of the door before pulling it down.

It could have been either. Keep the cat and kittens inside and away from the vermin. Call a pest control agency or your local animal control. Get rid of those nasty pests.

It wasn't the rats, that's for sure. The entire kitten would be gone, if so. Rats hoard their findings.

What the heck!?! The dang thing is decapitated and your talking like it's still alive!? Well, that's impossible... right? lol... Also, you put this in the wrong section, it is supposed to be under: Pets>>Cats. Not dogs... Anyways, it may have... got his head cut off by something sharp in the garage... and then maybe it rolled out..? I'm so sorry this happened to your kitty...
Hope this helps...

raccoons definitley,
when i was little i was traumatized when i heard kittens wailing underneath my grandmothers house. we found out that the raccoons were stealing the babies and eating them alive. its totally sick,
if you have anymore kittens please try to keep them in a safe place where the coons cant get them.

You sure mom didn't do it herself?? If a cat doesn't feel comfortable or safe, they can try to move their kittens, if they can't find a good spot, some cats, especially outdoor cats have been known to eat their kittens..
