When he gets that way, roll him on his back and hold him there til he calms down. Soon he will realize that it isnt acceptable.

Why don't you "yell" at him? Wouldn't you scold a child for this behavior?
I don't mean yell at him. That will only escalate the behavior. Try saying something like HEY in a deep stern voice when he gets aggressive. If he has a leash on, better yet! Tug on the leash and say HEY in the same manner. Its just enough to break their attention and focus them on something else. Play behavior should not ever get ugly. If it does, end the play session.

The breed of dog would be handy to know. All puppies reach an age that they are looking for their order in the pack. Since he has no other dog to challenge for position , He is just being a himself. Puppies will get rough with each other , and your his target. Stop him when he gets too rough. If you grab him and stop his biting or scratching you, He'll soon get the message to mellow out .

You have to train him. Here are the steps:
If he jumps on you: 1. Walk one step towards and then turn around and ignore him for like 10 seconds, then go back, if he does it again, repeat the above. When he finally settles down, praise him and reward him.
If he tries to bite you, do what I said above but wait a little longer.
Also, if you play tug-of-war, make sure NOT to go left and right (side to side), only go up and down.
By ignoring him when he is jumpy and mouthy, he will lose the thing he loves most-- your attention.

It is preety normal for a puppy to seem aggresive. They dont relize they are agressive as you said he wants to play.If he does something to you that is bothering you for example lets say he was like tugging at you and it bit you by accident tell him in a kind of loud voice No! be nice.I dont know if that will work but you have to try and tame it.

for puppies, its normal to be agressive. after a while, they learn to control their bite. for some things, if he starts to bite you or play agressively, stop the game or whatever you're doing and walk away. then resume what you were doing ten minutes later and stop playing and take a break everytime he plays agressively or bites you. after 3 tries, stop the game completely. also when he bites, put a toy in his mouth so he knows the chew on that. puppies are also teething so they like to bite. if he ever bites you, make loud groaning noises like he hurt you a lot. if you really spend time with your puppy and practice biting control(you can also freeze a sock and have him chew on that)he'll begin to know how to control his jaw. when i first got my puppy, he was teething and played agressively.
if you're puppy begins to play extremely agressive, you should know you've worked him up. stop the game and say calm down and calmly stroke your puppy. if he tries to snap at you, pull away and gently and slowly pet your puppy. he'll start to calm down and keep talking to him softly and calm him down. he should calm down-- always do this when he gets worked up too much. (: hope i helped!

when he gets to be too much, stop playing with him or tell him NO or tell him to "chill" as you say. when he is being a good boy, give him lots of praise, and he will soon learn what is too much and when he has crossed the line of your comfort zone.

Your puppy needs to go to a class for behaviors. He needs to learn who is in charge, it should be you. you did not say what breed he is.
