I have a one year old CKC registered male chihuahua that I'm unfortunately going to have to find a good home for. My husband and I both work a lot of late hours and travel so we feel terrible that we can't spend the time with him that he needs.

I've been reading with great interest involving limited AKC reg.
It has been stated in here a few times that a reputable breeder will limit the reg. of a pet quality puppy. After inquiring with 25 breeders that sell their puppies with a limited reg. all 25 of these breeders are willing to lift the limited reg. for anywhere between 100-400 more. Are these breeders still considered reputable or rip offs?

He had his shot for kennel cough about a month before we dropped him off. We even called while we were away to check on him and they said everything was fine...they never said anything about him coughing.

What is the treatment?

I'm pretty mad...should I try to hold the Vet responsible and make him take care of the costs?

I mean if you are irresponsible enough to walk your dog in a public area with no leash, would you also be irresponsible in not cleaning up after your dog. If I am being presumptuous, please let me know.

I am going to get a dog once school lets out which is in about 5 weeks. I am REALLY excited and the days seem to be going MUCH slower because I am actually thinking about it. I honestly can't wait. My mom refuses to get the dog before school is over because:

a) She fears the dog will distract us and therefore we won't be able to study for our exams properly since the dog would be new and all. (By saying we I mean my brothers and I)

b) She needs to see my average which has to be a 90 or above in order for me to get the dog which is not a problem for me.

BUT I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can I make the days go by faster because I am constantly thinking of the dog. I already came up with names and made an appointment with the shelter. What can I do to make time go by faster!!?

My friend has a dog which she got from a family friend when she was very little and doesn't remember the breed of the dog. We're guessing it's some type of terrier but we're not exactly sure. She's looked through a lot of dog books and online pages and she can't decide what it is. So I wondering if someone knew.

There's a very dumb Dalmation that lives next door to me, we're seperated by a chain link fence. This dog barks, non stop, and I mean all day if anyone is in sight. Sometimes he just barks for no apparent reason. It is extremely annoying. I tried to get him to like me by feeding him lunchmeat, it didn't help. Then I put human anti-depressants in the lunchmeat, nothing. Pretty much the only thing that kinda works is running at him menacingly to make him run away, but he still barks, just from the other side of his people's house. I love animals, but this one makes me want to beat him with a pole. Is there something I can do to him without physically hurting him?

Little brat, got away from us last weekend!! Seems like he does this every spring, and no, he is not fixed!! My bf doens
't believe in that!! Needless to say, I took the blame and got the ticket. I know a dog at large is not a good thing, problem is we share our yard with two other dog owners, and it's not fenced. He listens to his"daddy" but not to me . Guess he can tell I'm a pansy!! What to do?? I know we need to put up a fence this summer, because sharing a yard with other male dogs is not good!! You take your eyes off him for even a second and he is gone!! What a brat!!

Old dogs all seem to lose their hearing. When they are totally deaf, do you think they wonder why we aren't talking to them any more? It makes so sad to think that my dog doesn't understand why he can't hear me...
