There's a very dumb Dalmation that lives next door to me, we're seperated by a chain link fence. This dog barks, non stop, and I mean all day if anyone is in sight. Sometimes he just barks for no apparent reason. It is extremely annoying. I tried to get him to like me by feeding him lunchmeat, it didn't help. Then I put human anti-depressants in the lunchmeat, nothing. Pretty much the only thing that kinda works is running at him menacingly to make him run away, but he still barks, just from the other side of his people's house. I love animals, but this one makes me want to beat him with a pole. Is there something I can do to him without physically hurting him?

Once upon a time, I bought one of those high pitched dog trainers that people can't hear, but dogs can. My dogs didn't respond to it at all, but I actually used it out the window when my neighbor's dog barked and it effectively silenced the dog. My neighbor's dog was a lot like your neighbors dog!

It's a long shot, but it doesn't hurt the dog, so it may be worth trying. It also sounds like you might also have a police complaint if the dog barks non stop.

And no more medicating the dog, please. That's just not appropriate and could even be deadly.

You tried to DRUG the dog??? How could you know if the drugs would hurt him or not?? That wasn't very smart.

There are laws about nuisance dogs. Try talking to the owners first. You can try to be 'nice' -- tell them you are concerned about the dog or say that some of the other neighbors have complained... If they can't or won't fix the problem, call the police. Also, keep a written record of the times when the barking bothers you.

If you ask me, the owners should be locked up -- or locked out of their house and left out in the yard. Leaving a dog alone, lonely and bored all day is CRUEL. Why even bother to HAVE a dog?

Please don't blame the dog. I know it's annoying (I have the same problem!) but it's not the dog's fault, it's the STUPID owners.

You are obviously not much of an animal lover, are you. This would explain why the dog barks incessantly at you!! Dogs know when people don't like them. To put human anti-depressants in the lunch meat is ignorant of you, and dangerous for the health of the dog!!! Why don't you try talking to the dog's owners? If that doesn't work, then just stay away from the dog and go about your life, and leave it alone. He obviously does not like you for some reason, so leave him alone!!

dont give him any more medication for starters, that's really wrong. You could try talking to the owners, they might not realise what their pet gets up to while they are away. They can get a special collar that makes a high pitched noise when the dog barks, it doesnt hurt the dog, it just distracts him. He has to stop barking so he can listen to the noise. If the owners dont care that their dog is bothering you you can report it to the police or your local council and they can take it further.

Yes you can call animal control and make a complaint. The owners will get a warning to either get the dog a bark collar, debarked or kept in the house or it will be removed. Also, if you give him food when he is barking, you are incouraging him to bark more- thats a reward to him. Anti-depressents will kill a dog in a slow painful way, dont do that again.

Reading that makes ME furious. NO DalmatiAn is dumb! The OWNER is the dumb one. You NEED to call animal control, SPCA, Humane Society - WHOEVER! You need to get that poor dog out of their control. As the previous owner of a Dalmatian, I can tell you that this dog is barking non-stop because his owner is not providing him with any attention, exercise or socialization. You put human medication in a dogs food yet say you love animals? Shame on you. This dog doesn't need damn ANTI-DEPRESSANTS - he needs to get out of his owners care (whatever care he is getting) and he needs to be re-homed with someone who will train him, exercise him and provide him with the attention he needs. Dalmatians are extremely active and energetic dogs and they will be very sad and annoying if they aren't given enough mental stimulation or exercise.

Please get this dog away from his owner - and I don't mean by just letting him loose in the neighborhood. He needs to find a new home. Please call animal control or the SPCA and ask if they can come and get this dog to find him a new home. Your neighbor should be charged with negligence and animal abuse! No dog, especially a high-energy breed should be refused the right to vent his energy in exercise.

First talk to the owner about his dog. If this does no good call the police who can set up a noise meter to test the level of noise. They will then tell the owner to keep his dog quiet. If the owner fails to do this, then the dog will be taken away from the owner.

in case you're interior the united kingdom, community Council, Environmental well being, conceal those issues. you need to maintain a know the cases you're being disturbed, and for a manner long. in case you have already tried to talk with those human beings and not controlled to return to a decision the difficulty, I recommend you call the Council, and take it from there. no one ought to ought to stay with that kind of noise. And no, there is not any severe pitched sound which will reliably close canines up and it might surely do extra injury than sturdy, no longer in basic terms on the subject of the canines, yet human beings. talking of which, are your neighbours being disturbed too - may be nicely worth bringing them on board - whether it could be ultimate in case you need to sort this occasion out with out bringing interior the 'heavies' i could say? is this a registered kennel/boarding? if so, somewhat relatively appropriate tree/hedge planting on their section could improve the noise. in any different case i could say you could ought to evaluate shifting. playstation i could only say that in case you're making waves (and have self assurance me, I do sympathise!), and characteristic canines of your person, you could anticipate some retaliation in terms of any noise your canines might make? it somewhat is nicely worth thinking as those circumstances can improve!!
