A kennel has solid walls that give your dog a sense of security. The same effect can be gained from a cage by covering a portion of the cage with a blanket. Dogs should have plenty of outside time (especially bigger breeds), however they should have some inside time as well. This is especially true in inappropriate weather.

Deffently a kennel to a dog cage, but having the dog inside or out depends on the size of the dog

Keeping your dog inside the house loose out of a cage is the best thing. If you aren't comfortable with that without your supervision, a roomy crate that fits the dog perfectly is good. If you are asking this in regards to where you should keep your dog while you're at school for 10-11 hours - NETHER is a good place. Doggy daycare is the best if you're away for that long.

well...if you are going away for a while, then its better to put them in a kennel where they take them out for exercise and play with other dogs as to being stuck inside a cage...

Dogs definately need to go outside wether you take them for a walk or keep them fenced in the backyard. You can even put them on a runner...but dont keep them inside all day...

If those are the only choices, and the dog will be by itself for 11-12 hours per day, the outdoor shelter is less stressful for the dog..
A spitz should be ok outside, but Cloe really does need human interaction, socialization and long walks.
She will likely become an incessant barker, and develop skin problems (stress related) as Spitz breeds tend to do that.

Outside is a bad choice in the summer for a long haired dog or any dog. They can develop heatstroke like people, so it isn't a good idea to leave your dog outside unattended for too long.contact a petsitting service that could come and let your dog out during the day if you won't be able to be there.Crates worked wonderfully for my dogs...I even crate trained my 6 year old dog because she developed behavior problems!!Any dog is going to get bored, but it is up to you to make the responsible choices for them!!

All of my dogs have lived inside without a cage. Training is the key - teach your dog propper manners.
