Human food is okay as long as it is the right food. For instance, meat and veggies aren't really human food since almost all animals eat it.
Look online and you can find a wide variety of pet food recipes. My suggestion is to add a multivitamin that you can get for pets at any local pet supply store.
For now, you can open a can of tuna, add some cooked brown rice or raw oats and that should do until you can find a good recipe and get the vitamins.
As for the hairballs, do you mean mats in the fur? If so, those usually need to be shaved off as combing them out are almost impossible and very painful. Take the poor girl to a groomer or invest in a pair of grooming clippers and shave the mats and brush the rest. It will even out soon, but mats are painful because they pull on the skin so you want to get them out.
It sounds like nobody is going to claim the poor girl, so it seems you have a new friend. She'll love you forever for rescuing her!

Did you check the humane society or the pound to be sure no-one called there looking for the dog? A Pomeranian who eats human food is likely a beloved pet with a heartbroken owner. Be sure you do all you can to find the owner. Most newspapers will place an ad for lost and found for free. Check the lost and found column too. As to your question, my dog is very picky on dog food. I have purchased a high quality food...try the Vet or natural pet food store. My dog loves Parmesan cheese sprinkled on her dog food. Of course she gets a variety of human food to help with a balanced diet. I purchased a book about how to make human food fit for a dog and it also tells you what not to feed the dog. Hope you do all you can to find the owner.

You need to be very careful when taking in stays. You don't know how long the dog has been on it's own and what it may have contracted. Often when dog's ( or cat's) eat and eat and eat and they don't gain any or little weight they have worms or some other intestinal parasite. Depending on what kind it is humans can get them from the animal, Make sure you are cleaning you hands well and limit your contact with the dog. If you choose to end up keeping her you should give her a bath as soon as possible with gloves and get her to a veterinarian as soon as you can to be ckd out. She may also have a disease that is causing her to be thin. It is wonderful that you have a big heart to take in strays but just be careful.

If you feel that this dog isn't getting its proper nourishment, then you need to take the dog to the vet. Also if you have had the dog for longer then a month and no one has claimed her, then you can either keep it, or take it to a shelter, they can also give her proper health care there.

Feed her some dry dog food and maybe pour some chicken broth over it.
Or take her to the Humane Society, if there is one nearby you.
http://www.hsus.org
they will take care of her, and once they find her owner they will charge her owner for such damages. She may even have a micro chip in her that containsall of her info. Then, if they don't find her owner, you can go in and adopt her, she will be healthy and they can help you with any concerns you may have, such as her eating habits.
Good Luck.

Check online for a rescue group in your area, one that rescues Pomeranian or find a
no kill shelter and take the dog there. It may have some
health problems and the rescue group/shelter will be able
to take it to a vet to have its health checked out. Plus, they will try to find it a home. Unless you want to keep the dog
yourself, but then you should take it to a vet yourself to
find out why its not eating right.

That's fine, just add vitamins to her diet, get it in the pet store.
I had a Pomeranian who was like a kid who begged for candy, table food chips and chocolate all the time ,so I use to give in and give it to him but I always gave him vitamins everyday from the day I got him and he was always very healthy and friendly.
My dog occasionally spit up hairballs too, I never was too worried, just buy a brush from the pet store to comb her knots out.

Take her to a vet she may have a "lost and found" chip implanted in her (my cat has one). The vet should be able to help with the eating thing too.
