I just bought one, from a friend. I did not know what she was until now. I only bought her for $20. They was trying to get rid of her and did not want her anymore. What do u think about these dogs? Are they good dogs to have?

Have a look! She is gorgeous. (this is not my dog in the pic, just some pics that i found)

We are planning to get a puppy in 3 months (beginning of july) Now, at that time, we want the puppy to be the standard 8 weeks old. How can we find litters that haven't been born yet? Is there some kind of breeder organization we can contact to get a list of breeders? We want a female yellow lab. (not too large)

She is 11 weeks old but looks like she's about 3 weeks. She's a pit bull puppy but only weighs maybe 5 lbs. As soon as she went to the bathroom I could see the worms. Little white ones about 2 cm long or so. Then later she went to the bathroom, but it looked like it was just a worm and no poop. This one was round and about 3 or 4 inches long. This is so gross. My two grown dogs don't have any worms or anything wrong with them, but should I keep them away from her? Or is it only spread in the feces? We're taking her to the vet tomorrow because I can't find one on Sunday, but I'm just wondering if it will matter about my other dogs being by her. I already bought her a flea collar, though she doesn't seem to have fleas. I heard the worms come from fleas. She eats fine, but I can't get her to drink any water. She has no energy at all. I had to take her though, I felt so bad for the poor little pitiful looking thing.

I applied Advantix according to the directions and two days later my dog started itching and chewing on her fur on her sides. I gave her a good bath and she is still itching. Is there anything else I can do.

I always used Frontline but my new vet doesn't sell that brand. I was leary about trying something new since by dog had no problems with the other. The vet said most his clients use Advantix and have no problems.

I'm going to take that stuff back to him and get Frontline for the next application. In the meantime what can I do about my poor dog,s itchy skin? I heard even soap won't wash that stuff off. I'm wondering if that stuff is bad for the dog?

Does Advantix get into the dogs bloodstream. Some vets have told me "no" and some say "yes." Which is it? If anyone knows something about Advantix or has a dog with a bad reaction to it please let me know.

Does it show up in blood tests, or in a physical examination?
Would symptoms go away then come back again?

I have a 4 year old male chihuahua. I have several friends and family who want a puppy just like my little guy. I have also been thinking about getting a 'playmate' for him. I have found someone who has puppies (male and female) that I am going to look at today. I have thought about mating the two once the little girl puppy is old enough (I know, 2 yrs old) since I know several families that will want one, not for the money. My boy is very sweet and beautiful, he isn't a pure breed, he is mixed with a little something. But everyone is saying that because of the breed the little girl could have troubles with her pregnancy. If so, what is best, a male or female. I had always wanted to mate my little guy so I could have one of his puppies too. Just advise, please no mean comments. Thanks.

I am 19, and I still live at home...we had to put our 14yr old Golden Retriever to sleep a while ago and I miss having a dog! My mom isn't ready to have her own dog yet, but I was looking at pictures and websites and I fell in love with the King Charles Spaniels! Would they do okay if he/she stayed in the house most of the time?...and i am in college..have class during the day but i only work a few hours a night..would they be okay alone for that time? Also where is a good place to get a healthy puppy from? I read that these dogs have heart and eye health problems.. so i know a breeder would probably be the best place to go...Thank you for any help!!

I have recently made the descision to be a vegetarian, and I was at first thinking that my dog can't possibly be put on a vegetarian diet. Then I heard that there are vegetarian dog foods. Is this healthy for them? If so what is the best kind and where can I find it?

My Pug will pee in one small area on the pad and won't use it again anywhere else on the pad? I'm glad he's using the pads, but they're a little expensive to be throwing away each time there is a little bit of pee on it?

I don't want to take him to the Vet if I don't have to bc it cost my brother $900 to have it completely taken care of.

If my dog just has a parasite causing him diarrhea, will this eventually run its course and leave his system (like when humans get the stomache flu)?

She wants to lay on my newly dug soft dirt, we live in the country, where there is no leash law, so she is free to roam, she has acres and acres to lay somewhere else, but chooses not to dig her own area, and wants to use my new flower bed. Is there anything like crushed red pepper that would annoy her and make her not want to lay on my new baby annuals? I would like to keep whatever I use natural, with no chemicals of course.
Thanks for any info!

why do people do this cruel act? i have 4 dogs. 3 girls and 1 boy and not one of them is fixed but they live hapily. if i see them having sex, i throw water on the dogs. there is no reason why someone should have to pay $300 to fix a dog just for the vets pay check to be happily met. it is so mean for the girl dogs especially! nobody, not even her owner has the right to take her rights away to be a mommy or to be able to have kids. my oldest dog is 9 years old and she has only had 1 litter by accident. NOT because of MY boy dog, because of a wondering boy around the neighborhood. so, what do u have to say about this? i think it is mean, cruel, selfish and very unhumane. everyone that speys and neuters the dogs should be fixed themself to see what its like! it would be like getting a piece of your body cut off. it is traumatizing and i am sure it will hurt your dog a lot!

size, sex, age, attitude, fav. story, unique memory, dogs fav. things. and what ever else u want to share. then come back and read what every one else has written just for fun!
Duramax:
14 month old male 35"in.at shoulder. 150 lbs.
max is a big scardey cuddlebug that gets the zoomies all the time...any other danes get the zoomies??? my fav. story was this year i guess was his first real play time in the snow, and it was hillarious u know. pouncing, bounding, nip at snow and run! leap into drifts and sliding around.
unique memory i guess was when he got the zoomies in the kitchen and miscalculated his turn and ran into the wall and nocked a hole in the wall.....he didnt even notice....he didnt even stop running!!!

if not, you should. Just a note -

when buying a dog or a pup, it doesnt matter where you buy it from - petshop or breeder. apart from asking the age and health of the pups, what you need to do is ask the seller about the pups AND their parents medical history AND ask for their vets phone number (otherwise they can just lie about the history).
If they wont give it to you, then they probably have something to hide and you shouldnt buy pups from them.
if their pups and parents are healthy, immunised and have no obvious genetic problems, they will not have a problem with giving you their medical history or with you talking to their vet.
a registered dog means nothing in regard to general AND genetic health.
