get a regular sized one.
"teacup" is not a type of any dog. its just a name given to the runts of the litter or smaller dogs in an effort to sell them to people who think they are cute or dont know any better.
they are usually not very healthy.
in addition, there are no size regulations, so you could be getting a full size dog anyway.

In answer to your question there is no such thing as a "teacup" size dog according to all the good breeders I have spoken to, it usually is the runt of the litter some people sell as a teacup but being the runt usually means potential health problems, you need to find a quality breeder and get a healthy dog, I have a chihuahua that is 6 1/2pounds and still very small. Chihuahuas range from 1 to 13 pounds as a pure breed as far as I have seen so far. I know they are cute but be prepared if you do get a tiny one they need a lot of attention like a baby, you have to keep them warm and they dehydrate quickly if sick which can be fatal very fast to small ones. Do a lot of research and really be sure you are ready for the responsibility if this is your first Chi they are the best but they need a great deal of attention and love!

There is NO SUCH THING as a "TEACUP" Chihuahua. They are SMALL, UN-HEALTHY RUNTS being sold for hundreds more than what they are worth. A reputable, ethical and registered breeder will NEVER claim to sell "TEACUPS". There are TWO types of Chihuahua's - smooth coat and long coat. There is ONE size - standard. Do NOT be a fool and go and pay some stupid puppy mill/backyard breeder $1500 for a RUNT. Go and RESEARCH the breed THOROUGHLY. You will learn that only scammers advertise "TEACUP"s.

I agree with the others that said there is no such thing as a "Tea cup" Chihuahua. If you need proof in print? Then pick up the Chihuahuas, Popular Dog Series Magazine Volume 8, 2nd Edition and there's a great article detailing there is no such thing as a "Tea Cup" Chihuahua puppy. Do your research first.
