For house training, I suggest you buy some training pads that have the special odor that makes them want go on it from walmart or your local pet store. Place one in the middle of your living room and as your puppie learns togo on it move it closer to the door outside. Then put on your lawn and your puppie will learn that's where it should go.
For the chewing thing, you can buy some bitter apple spray. Just spray it on the thing he/she's tearing up and they'll learn not to chew on it.
I hope this helps, I'm no good at explaining things.

Your pup is bored. The only answer is some basic obedience work and plenty of toys to play with. There are some great interactive toys on the market, such as treat balls and stuffed houses that your pup has to pull things out of. Reward based clicker training is very effective for young dogs especially if you team words with hand signals. There are many great books on the market as well as DVDs that will help give you some tips. If you live near a local dog club or veterinarian, you might like to enrol your pup in some puppy socialisation classes, as these tend to teach basic obedience as well.
Another thing is playing plenty of games with your pup and taking him/her out.
There are also great chew toys and chews on the market, you should provide your pup with plenty of these. When your dog starts chewing something they are not supposed correct the dog by offering it a chew instead and praise your dog for taking the chew.

When you take him out for a walk walk until he goes and then give him a treat. To stop tearing things up place other things he can play with around and show them to him.
Another thing you could do for both problems in confine him in one room or floor of your house and place toys around and teach him not to touch the furniture in that room. You have to be in control. When he chews something up tell him no repeatedly.
Also for house training take him out before he eats or drinks and then ten to 20min later and take him out again and reward him.

Age and breed has a lot to do with it, most puppies can control their bladder at about 6 months. Until then you will experience several mistakes. If he is a chewer you may need to invest in more toys, Kong is a good one, you put PB or a cookie inside and it keeps them busy trying to get it out. My dog is two and everyonce in awhile I come home to shredded paper towels or tissue, so Good Luck, have fun.

I only got Two things to say Good Luck and Paitience.
Mine is housebroke, never goes out doors. She uses a doggie pad i put inside a huge cat liter box. She always knows this is her place to go do her business. A puppy is very hard and takes alot of trial and errors and patience.
Good luck!!! It is alot easier if you keep them crated or to one room only until housebroke, seems to be much more difficult when they have run of the whole entire house.
