She is a 4-year old female beagle. When she gets excited she tends to snort (sounds like a pig). My friends beagle did the same thing. She can normally catch her breath and stop snorting pretty easily a few moments later (never lasts for more than a minute or two). It is not everyday but sometimes. Is this normal or does she having breathing issues?

He also has a small growth on his back. WE took him to the vet and he said that he seemed happy and healthy so we shouldn't mess with it. It is a solid mass that moves on his underside but doesn't seem to bother him. I don't know if I should get a second opinion. He is the sweetest dog and don't want to lose him. If it is a non cancerous growth should it be removed anyways or is it harmless. Feel naive but don;t want to spend thousands of dollars if dogs can have fatty masses that are not dangerous and don't know if I should just have it biopsied.

its not like they really do hurt each other. my 2 pups playfight all the times and one of them does at times gets cuts (sometimes big ones, they bleed...) and all but they know when to stop. i do ecourage it sometimes, like, i grabbed the older one and get the younger one to "attack"!!
does anyone else do this?
i love it when they play flight...i could watch them for hours (btw, they are 8 and 12 months, girls)...better then tv!

I live in southern Idaho .I already planted some bulbs in one dog's grave ,/ They have not or did not come up so I'm a little worried about them. They are in Scruffy's grave for those of you from Pets-Dogs) and now I'm looking for plants/flowers that will come back year after year. They will be both Scruffy'ss and Liberty's memorials. It's get below freezing in the winter here so we have to fact that in this.

Does anyone have any great ideas of what I can plant in their memorials that will come back year after year and get bigger too? One idea I'm playing is rose bushes. Does anyone know of plants that have beautiful flowers to remind me of them at their graveside?I'm open to suggestions. Can anyone please help me out here?

Thank You for all the suggestions with this!

last night, she got into the bathroom trash can and we found a chewed disposable razor with the blade gone. Could it have cut her internally or could it be something else. She is still eating fine, and playful. She likes to sleep a lot but otherwise she seems healthy. this is the first time she has had any blood in her stools and the first time we have seen blood. Do we need to take her to the vet immediately or can we wait and observe. She has had three diahrea stools in 2 hours.

Who is the one person who came up with the BSL ban? It had to start somewhere and I have never heard of where it started or who came up with this crap.

I have a 16 month old newfoundland female. I've noticed the past couple of days when I've brushed her, her spine feels really boney. Today I bathed her and she looks so skinny . I am taking a sample to the vet to be tested for parasites, but I was wondering if it may be from losing her winter coat sice I've brushed about a trash bag of fur off of her this week.

Hello,

I have been using a crate to train my 5 month old puppy. We use the crate at night and if we leave for short periods of time. I have read a lot online about how it's not good to use the crate for punishment. However, sometimes i'll get really angry when she misbehaves, and I know it's not her fault, she's just a puppy.. So, if she misbehaves, I do not scold her or say anything, I just pick her up and take her to her crate and quietly shut the door and keep her there until i calm down. I just don't want to lose my temper with her and this seems to work for both of us. Is this doing more harm than good?

reason for her to lose them. I went to the vet and picked up some vitamin liquid for the remaining 3 hoping that would help. I've done everything I can think of to insure a healthy pregnancy and birth. I don't understand why I lost so many puppies. This was her 1st pregnancy. Should I get her fixed? What are the odds of this happening again?

I have a great dane who has been plagued with health probs since I rescued him 4 mos ago. I was referred to a speclist by my reg vet, who thinks very highly of him. She warned me that he's bad about returning calls on follow up - HA! It's been over a month since my $700 visit (paid in cash) and I have yet to get a call back to find out if my dog's problem is life threatening or needs meds. (Kidneys) I AM FURIOUS! I have made at least a dozen calls to his office in the month since we visited. Even my reg vet has called at least twice. Still nothing. They told my reg vet that they didn't have my correct number and would be calling me this past Monday. Nope. I called twice today alone. I've never even been rude with these people. Today I requested that my records be sent to me.
I am writing him a letter, but is there an assoc I can write to or somewhere to report him? I can't imagine anyone else going thru this. My dog is still bleeding, I'm broke, and we have to start over!

My 9 year old rottweiler was just diagnosed with osteosarcoma bone cancer. right now it is centralized in his left hind leg at the knee. I am destroyed about this. I do not want him to suffer nor do I want to lose him. I have the option of amputation. This is a tough decision for me to make. Those of you who can guide me or who have exprienced this situation PLEASE HELP. I will not be offended if responses come back to have him euthanized. The vet could not give me a solid answer as to if the surgery is performed that the cancer will cease it's evil attack on the rest of his body or if he is strong enough to survive the surgery. thank you in advance for all your help.
