Sorry about that everyone i was a bit panicky. I ended up calling a local taxi service in tears and offered to pay twice the going rate, i had a taxi on my doorstep in less than ten mins.
Any way, i was walking my dobe for the first time in about a month, shes been really sick, and a neighbours white GSD jumped its fence and attacked her, latched on to her face, bit me after i tried to prise its jaws off her, so i kicked it and the owner came out yelling and screaming at ME. Anyway, i carried my baby girl (64lbs) half a mile home, bleeding, and rang the cops and the rspca and the vet, the cops called the local ranger who couldnt make it out for 45 mins. All of my neighbours are out at work. My baby was bleeding and shaking in shock, i was bleeding and shaking in shock. She is now in surgery, i got treated by paramedics at the vetrinary hospital. The GSD bit her so hard it broke her right nasal cavity. She has hypothyroidism, advanced , so surgery is risky for her.

She will hopefully be fine, i just have to kill time now waiting for them to call when its over. The GSD has been taken by the rspca, the cops are coming around to take my statement. Im still shaking tho. Its just a case of thank god my mother has my kids or they would have been with me. Its not the first time the GSD has had a go at someone, tho its the first time its had a go at another dog that i know of. Sorry i will go now. Im just rambling.

She is fine for now, they have inserted a tube into her right nasal cavity to keep it open for her to breath, and so it heals properly. She looks like an absolute wreck tho, her face is all swollen, her right eye is swollen shut, she has stitches every where. My sons cried the first time they saw her.
On the up side, they did a quick evaluation of the GSD, and found it to be a dangerous dog, a risk to the public, and its awaiting euthanasia, the owner has been fined and it has been suggested to her to pay my baby girls vet bills before i sue her for the cost, which could get expensive with a sympathetic magistrate. Im just really p*ssed off because i just got my dog healthy again after a months worth of illness with her hypothyroidism, and now i have to wait a whole week before she can come home as she needs to be closely monitored. God i wish i had decided to wait one more day before taking her for a walk.

Unfortunately, there's not too much you can do for her without assistance. Make sure she's warm and dry and try to keep her calm until you can get some help. Try not to move her too much...encourage her to be still.

The bleeding of the nose could be serious, or it could be minor. Difficulty breathing is always a big concern. I hope everything turns out OK.

oh my goodness I feel so sorry for you both, are you ok? I owned a dobey before and they are big babies but, they also can go into a tramu stage, ask your vet for pills to calm your baby down, as they show more emotions than any dog I know. My poor dobey had a bestfriend (another dog we had) a mix of dobey and german sheppard, they got loose and did their normal run around the town, we were called at 5 am from the police dept as everyone knew Damon and told us 1 of the dogs were hit and the other dog wouldn't get off him, when I arrived It was Saber killed and Damon the dobey had dragged him out of the road (speed limit on this road was 65) was hit and killed, Damon dragged him off the road and torn all his pads off his feet and just layed on top of the other dog in shock, shaking etc. I never cried so hard in my life but he was really out of it for days until we called the vet and was told Damon was in shock so the vet put him on some kind of tranqueilizers for a month just to calm him down, no eating and just so sad. That really helped him as it took him 6 months to get back to normal, spend extra time with your baby and don't stop the walks, act as if it's another day, to help him get over this, keep normal activities for your baby as this will help him and don't baby as much as you will only set your self up for him to not go out and be very clingy. I am so sorry for you both, with love :0)

I am so sorry that this happened to you. I know how scary it is. One night I was walking my beagle mix, and I giant dog came out growling and barking at us. Its owner was no where in sight. I was scared to death since it seemed focused on my dog. I immediately threw myself over her to cover her incase it attacked, while my fiancee scared the dog away....luckily, the dog didn't get her, but it was still scary.
I know in the U.S. you could sue the owner in small claims court for ALL vet costs and win. I think you should do the same...sue for the vet costs and the cost of the taxi.

Take Care, and I Hope Your Dog Feels Better Soon!!

Sue her and I am glad your dog is okay . she did not have her dog under control and that is against the law . but the best way to take care of her is to sue her for all the medical bills and the cost of the taxi and if you really want to embarass her take her on Judge Judy . she loves dog cases and she is a dog lover herself . She will not only give this lady of piece of her mind she will be on tv and you will have totally embarassed her dumb ass for not having her dog under her control .

Good LORD! I am sorry to hear your neighbour could not adequately control her dog. Sue her!! If you are in Pa. call Edgar Snyder, a great injury lawyer. Geeze, I am so glad you both were not seriously hurt.
