My white american bulldog has them and as he is getting older he's getting more. Thats normal for his breed. If there just black spots that aren't raised or anything, I wouldn't worry. Its probably his skin pigment. When my puppy is wet they really stand out!

What KIND of 'spots' are they? Are the 'changes' in the coloring of his fur, are they 'darkening spots' on his skin under his fur, or are the 'lighter' than that skin? Are the 'flat' or are they like 'sores' ... either bleeding or 'seeping fluid' or like 'scabs' with dried up blood? YOU NEED TO TAKE YOUR DOG TO A VET if you are really 'worried' about your dog ... but if it's just a little 'color change' in his fur, I'd just call him a 'chameleon colored dog' and give him a dog cookie and a pat on his back.

Well, it really all depends. Our Toy Fox Terrier did'nt have spots when he was a puppy, but as he grew up, spots began to show up, despite the fact that his breed dosn't have small little dots, and they are perfectly natural. It also depends on the dog, for instance, if your dog is a dalmation, all is well. So if your dog is not sick or throwing up, then most likely you have nothing to worry about.

At one time I owned a Poodle and he developed Tumors which led to cancer-my vet informed me that Poodles are prone to Tumors-Please have your pet checked for possible Tumors-best results if caught early.

could be a birthmark... Try touching it, if it doesn't hurt then it may just be some sort of skin pigmentation. If you're really in dopubt, ask a vet.

you need to ask a vet, if you think it might not be a natural condition for the dog.
