I live on a farm and am looking for a puppy for a companion. They would have to be tame around people and gentle around them also. Should i get a Golden Retriever or Lab?

I'm really sick of this "my dog died because of menu foods!" bandwagon. I'm not trying to defend menu foods because for the most part aside from nutro they produce shitty products.
first off, i saw a matted knot of fur that was supposed to be a shih tzu on the news the other night. her owner said that she was feeding it ol roy and that the dog had been vomiting and sick for a week. first mistake lady is that you're feeding your dog the shittiest food on the market, second by the picture you dont give 2 shits about her anyway (no loving owner lets a dog get that matted) and third by your claim she was sick for a week and you DIDNT take her to a vet...what the hell???
boy her dog died at the right time cos now that trash is probably going to try and cash in on some lawsuit.
every new day now i hear of more people who shouldnt have had dogs in the first place saying that their dog died from menu foods wahhhh..
its absolutely proposturous to me that people without half a brain to ..

I was just wondering if her milk will just dry up on its own or is there something that I can do to help it go away. She is doing fine and eats well and is back to playing and things, but she still has milk and I think that her teets are sore and they are still swelled and drooping and they are hard. I have never been through this before. My Mom always took care of iur dogs at home and I just wondered if there is something that I should be doing.

My boyfriend and I are wanting to buy a dog. We both like larger dogs but we can't seem to agree on which one to have! He wants a Great Dane. I myself, being 4'11", want something the size of a pit bull. We want something with short hair, energy and on the medium large side of the "doggy spectrum". Any suggestions?

My dog loves to go for car rides, but she thinks she must look out the window for the first 15 of the ride before she lies down in the seat quietly. She hasn't scratched my interior yet, but every time I hear her claws slide down the door panel, I just cringe. Is there any way to keep her from scratching it up, like a protector that attaches to the window or something?

She is an 8 mo old yellow lab mix. Coughing, dry heaving, rapid breathing, dry nose, somewhat lethargic; Gums are pink and capillary refill time <1 second. I do not hear crackles or anything that would be irregular in humans.

She bit my daughter today (who tramped on her tail) but I thought labs were supposed to show no aggression even if ill?

We just got her on March 16 from the shelter. She has been retching and coughing since then. She had Kennel Cough (these coughs do not sound like the Kennel Cough I heard the day I picked her out) and the shelter said she received meds and was finished with them. She also received many vaccinations on the 14th and was spayed on the 15th. Her vaccinations included DHLPP, Corona Virus, and Rabies. Could these be making her sick?

She has not been eating very much, but I just figured it's new surroundings - plus her belly still hurts from the spaying??? I thought it was really weird that I tried to give her a piece of steak and...

My older dog recently had a tumour removed from her mouth and it was discover that she has a form of cancer that moves into the surrounding tissue. My vet is currently researching options for me, but I was wondering if anyone has any advice fore me. She is my baby and money is not a large option as long as the procedure is not extremely painful for her. My biggest concern is to not have her in a lot of pain.
She is currently eating normally and playing like always.

Yesterday my husband and I scrubbed the carpets in our house, and while it has NEVER smelled like animal pee before, it reeks now. This isn't the first time we have scrubbed our carpets using a similar machine, however this IS the first time I have used my mother's scrubber. My mom has had a rough time with pet stains in her basement, which have left a definite lingering smell, although she is dilligent to clean. Could it have been the scrubber that caused this? We DO have pets, but this has never happened before. We used a pet type of cleaner in the scrubber, but instead of clean carpet,, now we have a stinky house. HOW DO WE GET RID OF IT??
