That does not sound right. If I was you I would be seeking a second opinion.
I did a quick google search on this and found no references or recommendations of this nature.

I'd definately recommend getting a second opinion! The whole thing sounds kinda strange to me, but then again our vet told us to pluck the hair from our dogs' ears.
If your dogs nipples are infected, I'd probably want to know why as I'd think that the better alternative would be to use some antiseptic (our vet gave us doggy stuff when they were spayed) to get the nipples to clear up and then avoid the situation that's causing the infection.
If you are going to do it I'd suggest trying some antiseptic (or salt water/ swim in the ocean) to clear up the infection first. Dogs generally don't want you near an area that hurts because it's infected and that will make the whole process even harder.

Working under the assumption that you aren't joking (which I'm pretty sure you are, it just isn't funny), you should get a new vet. There would be no reason to irritate already infected, sore tissue by waxing the hair off of it.

I hope this is a joke. I would hate to feel you made this up to get people reactions. What a life you must lead..I doubt very much a vet told you to do that. How cruel..Let me see you wax your legs first and see if you want to put that much pain on a dog.

First of all, if you have never had anything waxed, try it on yourself. If you think at that point, that your dog can take it without burning her nipples or biting you, then feel free.
Otherwise, if she actually needs trimmed that bad and you don't want to do it, go to a groomer.

I'm so sorry but I'm just laughing here. I have never heard of this kind of thing before. It will hurt her like crazy. If it is really necessary then let him do it. I have my eyebrows waxed and that hurts so I cant even imagine how much it will hurt your dogs stomach.
I really am so sorry for laughing but I just can't help it!!!!
Your just messing with us aren't you.

If the vet gave you the stuff , maybe they won't do it , but I don't see why they shouldn't ! You should go ahead and do it yourself ! Have you ever gotten anything waxed ? It will hurt no matter who does it , but it will probably be more expensive if you take it back for them to do ! I'm sure your dog would feel more comfortable with you anyway , since she is probably already sore . Have someone help you to hold her .Then do it FAST ! Good Luck !
