No the pups will not be unhealthy if you give mom table scraps, but mix it in with her food so she gets better nutrition.
You dog should be on puppy food for it has better nutrition for mom to be and the pups. But just as long as she eats dog food with the scraps then that will do.too.

First of all, do not try to feed her cows' milk. This is not good for cats at all. If she is not eating it could because she is stressed from being in a new environment, even if she is not showing it in different ways. At 8 weeks old, if weened properly, she should not need any kind of simulated formula. I suggest that you try A/D watered down a little and heated to a little bit warmer than room temperature. Kittens and cats love A/D because of it's strong smell. If this does not work you may have to syringe feed her so that she will learn what it is. It's difficult to syringe feed but often necessary. Be sure that she does not become dehydrated; a quick test is to lift up the skin, often on the neck, and if it doesn't not go back down quickly then she needs liquids. When syringe feeding, use the watered down A/D. Keep monitoring her to find out if she eats and what she eats. Good luck and keep us updated.

Dogs are only pregnant for 60-63 days, which means your dog is about there. When a dog is nearing labor, they won't eat much, if anything. Table scraps won't hurt the puppies, but I would suggest trying to feed her puppy chow, it provides the proper nutrients that she needs, and that her puppies need. Also, continue to feed her the puppy chow while the puppies are nursing.

If she is 8 1/2 weeks she is pretty near due.. gestation is 59 to 63 days... she is getting ready to birth... don't worry about it. after the pups are born.. for the first few days especially, she won't even come out of the box/pen and leave the pups for water. Make sure you bring it to her, and her food.. but water is extremely important for her milk production. put it right under her nose if you must, but make sure she can reach it without leaving her babies. Put her on Puppy food too... it has much better nutrition for a pregnant or lactating female and is not just for puppies. If you read the labels it even says it is for pregnant or lactating 8)

The pups will be fine. Our female wouldnt eat either, so the vet told us to feed her whatever she would eat, especially, high protien, starchy foods. She ate rice and peanut butter sandwhiches daily.
Sounds like she is getting close to me. Keep a close eye on her from now on.

She's going to give birth any day now and has no room for food. Keep puppy food available to her at all times and let her nibble as she can.
