I'm really sick of this "my dog died because of menu foods!" bandwagon. I'm not trying to defend menu foods because for the most part aside from nutro they produce shitty products.
first off, i saw a matted knot of fur that was supposed to be a shih tzu on the news the other night. her owner said that she was feeding it ol roy and that the dog had been vomiting and sick for a week. first mistake lady is that you're feeding your dog the shittiest food on the market, second by the picture you dont give 2 shits about her anyway (no loving owner lets a dog get that matted) and third by your claim she was sick for a week and you DIDNT take her to a vet...what the hell???
boy her dog died at the right time cos now that trash is probably going to try and cash in on some lawsuit.
every new day now i hear of more people who shouldnt have had dogs in the first place saying that their dog died from menu foods wahhhh..
its absolutely proposturous to me that people without half a brain to ..

take care of themselves let alone an animal can claim that the food killed the dog.
people dont even have the sense to feed their dogs right in the first place let alone know what, why or how their dog died.
these are the type people i see everyday...people who buy a dog on impulse and dont know jack about the breed or people who support puppy mills and buy their shiz tzu from a mall.

and then ppl ask...how can it be on the shelves so long?
wanna know why, cos most people who own pets dont even know enough about dogs to notice if they're sick and if they do they let them die after vomiting for a week.
i only take solice in knowing that most states make it illegal to view animals as family members and that they are in fact viewed as property...
and you know why
because thats the way people actually treat them.

although i shouldn't even be caring enough to let you know i'm a qualified dog groomer and i live with a vet as well as owning a shiba and several other types of animals...

i'm sorry ol roy is not the same as nutro some people as well as the news are seriously misinformed here. yes they are obviously processed at the same factory with some ingredients and sources of food being the same however the differance is between having corn by products, wheat, beef, differant types of preservatives. I;m sorry its not all the same crap. heres a people example if you must...
mcdonalds owns boston market and while they may use some same ingredients (like coke products and cookie dough)
im sure we can see that they are both differant types of food.
there are many corporations that own each other and put out shitty food as well as good food so dont fool yourselves please.

I have to agree with "kdlyn' their right not everone can have the money to buy top of the line (spit out your silver spoon else u might choke)...I feel for anyone who lost thier animal due to this HUGE f up. However when i read it was 2 TOP companies i laughed at little..They are to be the best food u can feed your dog and they killed how many even their own test animals? I 'm sure alot of good breeders are in shock lots recommend feeding of these companies. I just hope this awful thing opens ppl eyes to the crap these top companies and everywhere inbetween put in our loved pets food.

I know there are just as many rich ppl who don't treat thier dog right..sure they got the top of the line killer food...But they are not trained and brought in to groomers matted, give up to the shelter for the dumbest of reasons! Rich or poor it does not matter its in how u care for ur animals. LOVE DOES NOT NEED MONEY. maybe i'm wrong to think just because u feed ol' roy (which has the same lable as a top company) doesn't mean u don't love your dogs...

I can't so i get the eye of round steak instead. the point is well grow up not everyone has money...if they don't have money it doesn't mean they don't care.

The fact that we are living and breathing and able to do all these things. The fact that we are not rocks and some divine coincidence made use who we are instead of some inorganic atom. The fact we can give things worth. We can categorise. Its all beautiful, the sight, the sound, the feel, the emotion, the taste. Even pain. We can feel that not many other things can. Pain may be painful, but we can feel it just as we can feel happy. Its amazing really that out of all of this we can do these things. Although it seems to suck sometimes its still wonderful. random fact: if you shoot a rabbit, it doesnt know why it feels pain, it doesn't register that there is an explanation, it just knows it feels pain and as a reaction will run away, even if its dying. Shoot a human (even if they did not know what a gun was) it would realise its something launched, have some sort or knowledge of what to do and so on. I dont think this was relevant but its written now... But if youre looking for one reason it would definitely be pie.

I completely agree with you!
I am a groomer and you should see the dogs that come into the shop! You know these people feed their dogs walmart brand food. Or they feed their dog nothing but table scraps because the dogs are so obese.
Then the dogs are completely matted and they kiss their dogs like they love them. If you loved your dog and actually paid attention to your dog at home....which they don't. You wouldn't want to even pet your dog with all those mats in its fur. Same with cats too. I have a main coon cat that has never had a mat in her fur, yet I hear people all the time say that main coons are always mated. Not mine. I brush mine and feed her a high quality food.
And people think its funny that their little dogs bite and act like a monster.
Sorry you got me on a rant.
People come in the grooming shop or call, I need my mated dog shaved today! And I think to myself...why today? You didn't notice your dog was all mated last week, yesterday. Your dog will still be mated tomorrow. And they expect the impossible. Oh, leave the hair long. No, I'm shaving your dog because I'm not going to torture your dog and hurt your dog by trying to get all these mats out.

I agree on the way alot of dogs are treated but expensive foods were in the recall not all good pet owners can afford the highend dog food but still care for their pets dearly. If dog ownership were only meant for the wealthy our shelters would be beyond overcrowded. I have experienced first hand what bad dog food can do to a dog it almost killed my lab when I was a kid but we didn't do anything to the company even after a $800 vet bill my mother called the company just to let them know so other dogs wouldn't get sick. Its a shame that the riffraff are always the ones on the news and they will be cashing there settlement checks right after they cash their welfare ones.

You are so right. I just wish more people saw it the way that we do. Obviously nobody understands proper care of dogs. I just wish there was some way I could pound it into their heads.
