we know exactly that canned food has absolutely no certainty that its healthy for our cute animals. So I bought an e-book from a staffordshire breeder and im now cooking for my 2 puppies. Its not only healthier and cheaper (i spend about 45c a day per dog...) but i i know EXACTLY what im putting in it. They get essential vitamins and minerals by putting certain things. So why is it considered such a "crime" to cook for my puppies?

I have an approx 4 yr old male shih tzu or lhasa (rescued, not exactly sure). Anyway, he has the typical large eyes for these breeds. I am constantly wiping clear, mucousy film out of his eyes. The vets just call it normal. I'm wondering why he gets so much of this and if there is anything I should do to prevent it? I wipe the area beow his eyes a few times a day to make sure it stays clean. If I don't clean it, it stains and gets smelly.

I just found out that my beloved male puppy is missing a rib, has one kidney, a small liver. He had episodes of "screaming" in pain, he would not eat or drink, had aggressive behavior towards me, and would not let me put him down. At first for hours, and then for a whole day, about once a week. The vet thought it was gas pain. Then we took Xrays and found all of the other issues. He needs to be on amoxycillan, Sam-e, pepcid (only 1.5mg daily), special foods, for the rest of his life. He has IBS and GI problems. It could also be Portal Systemic shunt (micro). A Bial acid test will be given on Monday to determine further treatment. Does anyone have any similar issues at all, any suggestions for treatment, any suggestions where to get the above meds for the least amount of money, or a puppy with any of the same kind of defects? Please help with any information. Thank you.

I'm looking for a good medium-large sized dog.
I won't be buying my apartment for a couple months so I've been starting to do my reseach.
I'll be gone for some of the day but the dog will be with our cat, lola, so (s)he won't get lonely.
I'll have time for about two hours of playtime at the park.
I was thinking about a German Shepherd but, any suggestions are fine.

Thanks in advance.

My dog is about 4 years old. He is a Border Collie we got from people who raise sheep and use the dogs to hurd the sheep. My dog was a reject because he is skittish and didn't follow commands. It is obvious he was abused by the trainers. What is a suggestion for gaining some control?

There are so many options for heartworm, intestinal worms and fleas like Frontline, Advantage and Revoltution..(Exelpet -which my vet doesn't recommend possibly because they dont make profits). It's just really confusing and quite expensive!!

The septic tank is buried several feet below the surface.

We have tried sprays, noises, plug ins, and reward but with no success. Has anyone got a solution please - mainly she barks when a squirrel comes into the garden, at just about all birds, and trees being blown by the wind. This causes her to get very stressed. Even the vet can't suggest anything else other than going back to training classes. Any sensible ideas would be welcome. She is as good as gold at any other time,.

Do you think that BSl is wrong? BSL is Breed-specific legislation. It is designed to place restrictions on ownership of certain breeds of dogs. Typically, the restricted breeds include pit bull-type dogs (usually vaguely defined). In my opinion, it is not the dogs fault on how they act. It is the irresponsible owners that train them to grow up to kill.On Monday, May 9, 2005, the Denver Division of Animal Control began enforcing a city-wide ban on owning pit bull terriers, and initiated an aggressive campaign of seizing beloved family pets, and killing them against their owner's will. These dogs were innocent. When did guilty come befor proven innocent? heres some info for you. 440,000 people are killed from ciggarettes each year. 40,000 are killed from car accidents. 38,000 are killed by gun crimes. 2,000 are killed by there own parents. only three are killed by pitt bulls. ONLY THREE. show your support and vote against BSL. for more info go to www.stopbsl.com. thankyou.
