I have a new three month old full blooded black lab. We just can't seem to find a name that suits him.

Some traits: It's a male. He is SOLID black..no markings at all. He loves to chew. He is very playful and his legs look bigger than his body. When he plays, jumps, or runs he looks really silly because of his legs.

Thanks for your help.

I have a one year old westie ...spayed and whenever someone comes to our house she meets them at the door and piddles on the floor in her excitement...I have even tried to let her out before company arrives and she still piddles(pees) on the floor when she is excited..otherwise she is very good about the housebreaking. And luckily it only happenes by the door on the linoleum floor so it is easy to clean up. She is a very smart dog so I feel she should be able to control herself. Is this behavior problem?.. a weak bladder? will it ever stop? I can tell she feels bad but she still does it.

He is a red cattle, we got him from rspca when he was three months old. At 1st he used to pee himself when you got close to him now he only does that if he get into trouble. He wears a collar all the time and it does not bother him, but when you put a lead on him to go for a walk he pulls away from you as far away as he can get, we have tired using treats but he still doesn't come we have even got him a harnest but he still pulls away or lays down. He is not even interested in playing with tennis balls or squeaky toys. Please tell me is there anything else we can try so we can take him for walks?

She is coming from Brazil. The dog is a male yorkshire terrier. It is neutered. 2years old. I have no idea what the process is for bringing a dog into the US, or if it is possible at all. I'm sure it must have all shots required here in the US, but I don't know what else.

I take him out side or for walks and he comes back and goes straight on his mat. I have tried shutting out in the garden with his clean mat he howles and cries to come back in. Then goes to his mat indoors he has also started to pee-pee on the carpets.

I have 2 cats and three dogs. One night, I ran out of cat food (the dry type) and my cats were hungry. So since I had dog food only and the shops were closed, I gave them dog kibbles. They're more or less of the same shape and size and are made of the same ingredients - chicken. My cats took a nibble and refused the rest of the bowl, preferring to go hungry than eat dog food. The next day, i got them a fresh pack of made-for-cats kibbles and they immediately dived in and ate up. How come my cats knew what I gave them wasn't cat food?

I also know of dogs that won't eat cat food for the long run (not mine though, cos they're pigs and will eat anything).

It would be good if a pet food manufacturer can answer this question. Is there some special ingredient you put in cat and dog food that makes cats and dogs know which kibbles is who's? Also, nowadays, dogs are eating fish too - like salmon. You can't say it's the ingredient. How come they know the difference?

I'm in China and I just got a stray dog. She's really cute, but I just don't know what breed she is...and it's a little hard to ask people..lol. She's a small dog..about 24 inches long from her head to her backside (not including her tail). Mayber 20 inches high. Her tail is rather long. Her fur is about 3 inches long and tan. Her fur is straight. She has a cute face, not too long, not too short. And not too thin either. Her ears are floppy. For her size, I would say her legs are rather long. She is very nice and friendly. She always seems to be happy. She likes all strangers.
Can anybody tell me if they know what kind of dog this is?

We have a black lab about a year old. She keeps digging under the fence and getting out. We block the holes but she just makes new ones. A friend suggested putting black pepper where she digs but we have had no luck with that. Any other ideas out there???

So far i have kept them seperate and switched their blankets so as to get used to each others scent. They have been allowed to sniff each other on leash. I also walk both of them at the same time on different sides of me. So far my Pit hasnt showed any signs of aggression [growling, nipping, biting, etc...] but he seems to be very interested in her. He always wants to sniff her and his ears "perk" up. The puppy wants to play and tries jumping on him. But he wont let the puppy sniff him. They have never been off leash while this happens and the situation is always controlled. THey sleep on seperate sides of a glass door so they always see each other and i do not show more attention to the new puppy than my Older pitt. Ive only had her for 2 days. I am not expecting a miracle to occur soon. But if they dont get along, i will have to get rid of my puppy. are there any other suggestions as to what i should be doing? also, how long should this introduction period last?
