I take my dogs out before that. It is an area of controversy.. I keep them away from other dogs, and areas that dogs frequent until about 14 weeks. ( they have had shots at 7 weeks, 91/2 weeks, 13 weeks.)...

Well it depends on how each individual feels,i personally took both my dogs out before the 2week peried, about 5/6days after.Injections are over rated to be honest and some people including me dont vaccinate. My dogs had there puppy jabs and none sinse, they are now 4yrs and 14months,and have never been ill.I took both mine out before the 2week peries as i wanted to get there socilisation started and the most crucial time for socilisation is between 5-16weeks.So i would say yes you'll be fine, your pups been injected so i woudn't worry to much about waiting for 2weeks.

my pup is 10weeks he had his 2nd injection yesterday and the vet said i could take him out after 24hours. I thought this was a bit early so phoned around a few other vets to see what they said and the all ranged from 24hrs - 2weeks. It depends on the vet and the vaccination they use 2 of the vets i phoned said aslong as the injection has got DHPPI in it then its 24hrs.
Thats where i live in the UK im not to sure about other countries tho, my pup only had to have the 2 jabs.

The situation is this, puppies gain an amount of disease protection from the mother, this protection fades with time. this is why the puppy should be vaccinated at 6, 10, 12, 16 weeks of age to ensure it is protected from disease. Many vets recomend waiting to socialize until the vaccines are in full effect because they can not predict when the maternal antibodies(disease protection) will be gone. Somewhere around 10-12 weeks is a good guess.
On the reverse side of the coin is the critical periods for socialization which end around three months of age, or 12 weeks.
the best way to accomplish both is to make sure that any other puppies your dog plays with are vaccinated and introduce your dog only to dogs which are vaccinated to prevent exposure to disease.

If it is their baby shots, that is true. Actually it is 10 days. It is Ok in your own yard but just don't take him for walks in a public area until that time incase some other dog was walking around that area w/Parvo or something else. That area would take 10 years to go away. I agree with the other answer..........better be safe then sorry. Just spend cuddly time with him on your lap (if he is a lap dog) lol. Good luck

10 days I did. I know it is frustrating, but at least a week, and be careful. Best to do whatt he vet says, but it holds up their socialisation, I know. Leave it a week, then go visit a friend with a dog in their place who has had the injections - will be OK

Advice does vary anywhere from a few days, but I'd say a week to ten days is sufficient.
