I walk them everyday if the weather is nice. This breed prefers to run off leash though (just like in the wild), so I take them to an area like our neighborhood retention pond if it isn't too muddy. They are very well behaved and won't go far, and they come back if I call them. This is typical of the breed to not wander far from their master. Otherwise if it s raining, they get to run and play inside the house. My dogs (and the breed recommendation) need 30-45 min. of exercise a day. They are pretty calm and quiet inside the house, which is another characteristic of the breed.(except for puppies of course)

It really depends on the weather for walks with my dog. In the summer, we walk twice daily. Early morning and late evening- Matilda is a french bulldog, so if we walk at other times of the day, she easily will overheat.

During the winter, we try to walk as often as we can when it's not below freezing and the sidewalks are clear because she hates her boots with a passion.

I'm going to be fencing in my backyard this spring so we'll be able to play off leash (she's a deaf dog) but we'll still walk!

I have large dogs that don't require a lot of walking. They have a run that is longer than my home and free access to it all day. Weather permitting we take them to the horse farm or river on the weekends and let them run a few hours. Since I have seven dogs they play together frequently as well as with the kids.

Twice a day during the week (morning and evening) and if the weather is nice, we go to the park on weekend afternoons for some extra exercise.
I can't wait to get a house so that they can be out in the yard and play whenever they want, that'll be nice for all.

I walk my dog once per day.

I take her out three to four times per day, and she is kenneled at night when I work at this time, and she sleeps in my room when i sleep during the day.

Her schedule is out at 7 am then again at 9 am, then sleep until 4 pm, then out, and then out at 5 or 6 pm and a half hour walk, then out at 11 the kennel until morning. and she is a beagle who will be 2 years in a month, and is just a content at hunting with me for 4-5 hour at a time.

When I really think he needs it.

I love my dog heaps, but dont really get to exercise him much.
I feed him twice a day & give him fresh water with a kiss & play each time, but if I notice him looking a bit dull, I drop everything & take him for a walk to cheer him up.

I have a big yard so that does help. He has heaps of toys too & fresh dog marow bones.

I don't walk my dog. And here is the reason why: He is VERY hyper active, so he is constantly running around the house and playing with his chew toys. He is going on 5 years old next month and he still acts like a puppy. I get a kick out of it sometimes because he is a big goof ball. He is a chihuahua too! Lol. But, he gets plenty of excersize from playing all the time, so there really is not need for me to walk him.

I live in the country so my dog is outside running around most of the day, but around five o'clock we go on a thirty minute walk around the property line!
