My puppy had the same symptoms. I had a pomeranian. It turned out she had distemper. Well, it started as Parvo, but then turned into distemper. Unfortunately, she passed away. My vet diagnosed it with a simple blood test. I got the results 20 minutes later. You should get your puppy put on an IV of all the fluids she needs. She is not eating, and she needs nutrients. If it is distemper, then it will be very hard to treat, but IV's will help. It it's not distemper, then the IV's will really help and she should regain a lot of energy needed to fight off the infection.

It's hard to believe that a vet can't dx the puppy!
It needs fluids asap!! It certainly does sound like distemper.
You don't say if the vet did anything at all for the pup, I think a vet would at least treat the symptoms regardless of a dx.
Get some pedialyte at any grocery store in the baby food aisle {plain, unflavored} and use a syringe or an eye dropper to get it down the pups throat.
I would also get some liquid vitamin c and give a small dose to him several times a day.
Go to a feed/pet store and ask for a high calorie paste for sick dogs, it comes in a tube like toothpaste and you can actually just rub it into his tongue and then wet his tongue with some pedialyte to help get it down his throat. If your pup is gonna make it then you need to get PROACTIVE now, they are like a baby and it doesn't take long before the loss of fluids and calories takes them beyond saving.
If it is indeed distemper there are some long term problems to be aware of, possible blindness, chorea which is the jerking of a set of muscles, usually the same muscle on both sides of the body, incoordination, there are more but these are some of the worse permanent conditions I have seen after distemper was gone.

Hopefully, it isn't distemper, but it sure sounds like it could be.
If you have other pets, especially young ones, keep them separated as much as possible. Get this puppy checked out very soon. When you take it to the vet, try to take it in a carrier and stay away from other dogs as much as possible.

Even if the vet cant diagnose correctly, the symptoms should have been treated to prevent the pup from getting worse. I would strongly recommend finding another vet. Dont wait.

Find another vet..It sure sounds like distemper, but could be any of several viruses. If Your vet isn't helping him, he/she is not competent.
