There are so many options for heartworm, intestinal worms and fleas like Frontline, Advantage and Revoltution..(Exelpet -which my vet doesn't recommend possibly because they dont make profits). It's just really confusing and quite expensive!!

I wouldn't recommend Revolution and a lot of vets have pulled it due to various complications and even death. Don't use anything by Hartz or Bio Spot (either the collars or the drops) as they have been shown to be deadly. Frontline and Advantage seem to be pretty well tolerated. A lot of time if you go on Frontline's website or whatever, they've got coupons to print out to make them a bit cheaper.

Most vets won't recommend revolution over frontline or advantage simply because they have found that in most cases it doesn't work well for fleas. Because of this they aren't sure how well it is working for worms as well. Heartguard is the best solution for heartworms. Everybody has different preferences when it comes to flea treatment. At my vet we recommend fronline over the advantix but some dogs do better with one or the other. You just have to try and see which works best for you and your dog. Don't use hartz or any other walmart brand. It doesn't work and has cause many health problems in pets like siezures.

Some people swear by garlic in their food daily for intestinal worms apparently dogs like it. Try local library they usually have many books on natural treatments for dog conditons. Or try doing a Google search for natural dog remedies

I would recommend Revolution and then once a year de worm with Drontal Plus it gets all worms. Revolution has been proven safe on all breeds big and small and even pregnant and lactating bitches, it is completely safe.
