That is so awful! How dare you! That poor dog! Ditching your dog! Put an ad in the newspaper 'free dog' , take him to a humane society, or to an adoption center. What is the matter with you!
So what you had a baby that doesn't give you the right to be cruel to animals. If you don't want the dog it is your responsibility to try to find him a home!

Yes. If they found out it was you, you could be charged for animal cruelty I'd think.
And besides, why ditch it when you can just as easily take it to an animal shelter? I mean, come on, the dog will most likely find a new owner.

By ditching, if you mean just dropping it off somewhere on the side of the road to fend for itself, yes you should be jailed. It's still a form of abuse.
People seem to forget that dogs are domesticated animals now, and that they can't take care of themselves out in the wild anymore.

Maybe not jailed but punished! No sense in punishing an innocent animal because one took too much responsibility upon them, at least find a good home!

of course. what if you get sick of your kid? are you gonna ditch that too????? Maybe put him in a plastic bag and chuck him in the garbage bin???? No one will know...why not? this is typical ignorance talk.... A LOT of things will happen in your life WHILE you have a dog. It is your responsability to live your life according to what you have "built" around you. In this case, a dog.

Do you know how many dogs would stay out of shelters if that was put into effect?
While we're at it, I say jail those to lazy to find houseing that will except their pets when they move as well.
And the people who dump their pets because they got new furniture and the dog doesn't match it.

If they can't take the time to find it a new loving home, or at least a shelter to surrender it to, they shouldn't have the dog (or the child!!!) in the first place.
