nothing most likely. Chocolate isn't good for dogs and the semi-sweet type you buy for cooking can make them really ill. An m&m isn't that type, it's a milk chocolate. Still not good for the dog, but it's not going to kill him or even make him sick.

How many M&Ms ?
One of the main signs of chocolate intoxication is hyperactivity and vomiting ... which is a good thing, kinda, cuz you're getting the rest of the chocolate out of the system !
Milk chocolate only contains small amounts of theobromine and caffeine so it's not too concerning. And peanuts are usually ok. your dog is pretty small so if he did eat a lot he might show some signs.
If you are concerned and your pooch is not acting normally, vomiting for instance, I'd bring him to your local emergency vet if regular vets are closed. If he didn't eat tons, chances are he'll be alright and ... I don't think that he's going to die !!

As long as he only ate one I'm sure he'll be fine. You need a little more than a single M&M to kill a dog. If anything, he might have diareha, and I would be sure just to check on him to make sure it passes out of him all the way. And make sure he doesn't get a hold of any more chocolate. :)
Hope that helps

And undergo in strategies, grain alcolhol is poisonous to human beings yet we are in a position to advantageous drink various beer without dying. Chocolate is barely mildly poisonous to canines.

The dog will probably get diarrhea. I think you are actually allowed to gives dogs pepto-bismal if they have stomach problems, but since the dog is so small, you could only give her a little bit.

One regular milk chocolate m&m? I wouldn't worry, that tiny amt won't really affect him. However dark chocolate m&m's have a lot more of the chemical theobromine that is dangerous to dogs. If you get that type, you have got to keep them out of his reach.

One m&m is not going to kill your dog. It could make him a little hyper, make him throw up. Just make sure to keep any chocolate out of reach.
