I make my dog lie down or else he goes in the kennel, But he only does it because he wants attention or he has to go outside.

Take the dog for a long walk. Dogs love to walk a lot, daily, and play with him. Take a look at Cesar Milan, the dog whisperer.

lol my dog does the same exact thing. they look up to you like you're their parents, and they want your attention right then and there, all the time. just give him a lot of toys and treats. I'm not sure if you have a large dog or not but bones usually keep them occupied. good luck!

I had this exact same problem. You do have a couple of options, and I doubt that something is wrong with him. 1) a squirtbottle when he starts to get whiny. 2) the best piece of advice I got is from a response to when I asked this question more than six months ago:

MY QUESTION:

My dog whines at me in the late afternoons and nights.?
I have an 11-month old German shepherd-bloodhound mix female puppy, and recently she's started to just stare at me and whine incessantly. For hours. Like she wants something, although she's been outside, been played with, ate, drank, gotten rawhide, etc. etc. I don't know what she wants! If she's not whining, she's just standing in front of me staring at me, and when I go to pet her, she backs up...it's really annoying! My other dog has never done anything like this, so I'm a little confused...any help?

When she's sleepy, she puts herself to bed (she's not crated) and she doesn't have to go to the bathroom. She won't play either, she just backs up and then stares at me...do bloodhounds really whine a lot? She's generally a very quiet dog.
She knows sit, heel, lay down, roll over, stay, etc. She's not stupid, and she obeys. She's done these things since she was three and a half months.

BEST ANSWER!!

One of my dogs doesnt like to stay up past 9pm. Im a late night person. If I get up from the sofa to get a drink, go to the bathroom she goes to the bedroom door and waits. If I dont come to bed she comes back to the sofa a does a long whiney sigh. Sometimes it is so sad I have to go to bed and watch tv or get on my laptop like Im doing tonight. She may just want you to go to bed, so she can relax and not have to worry about you. It make for a long day protecting you. My dog is Huskey/German shepherd mix. watches everything I do and hears everything.

when she does it stand up and say what do you? in a normal not frutrated voice, then say show me, take a step and say show me again. She just might.

I took my puppy to training and he would whine throughout the whole lesson because he wanted my attention. Just tell him NO, then ignore the behavior. If you give him attention when he whines, he'll learn that it works and will always do it.

My dog does the same thing. I have a Shih-tzu. You just gotta talk to them. I dont know if you do that. I constantly talk to my dog like its a human and he is more responsive too.

First, what kind of dog is it? The breed of the dog helps in knowing what to do.

What a little jelly belly he is. Get another dog so he has another dog to play with.

well I think that if your puppy can't stop whining than maybe shoulod take your beloved friend to the doctor.
He may of ate something or hurt himself/herself and this is the only language that our friends can speak.
If your really a dog lover than you will begin to understand on what exacting they are trying to tell you.
Good luck
