I work all day and although I come home at lunch every day to see my dog, and he's in a crate but there's a thick cushion in there and likely he sleeps all day, but since he's in the crate, when I get home I feel like I should pet him every time he comes to me and play with him every time he wants to play. And if I don't, if I say "go lay down puppy" and he goes away I try to relax but I feel SO guilty. It never goes away. I even let him sit on my lap with my laptop! I'm not an overindulgent mom and he's a really really good boy, I just feel so much guilt I can't belive it when I just need to sit and relax. Does this happen to you?

I have a bishan-frise poodle mix. He's seven years old and has someone recently gotten into the habit of licking everything. Your hand, the carpet, the blanket, he just licks everything constantly. I can't even imagine what the problem could be. Please help.

Early last month my puppy (well she's 8 months old) got hit by a car and completely broke her tibia and fibula in her back leg and it was a compound fracture, which means the bone went outside of her skin. She had to have surgery the next day after the next accident and just got her cast off today. Her leg that she broke is very weak and she still won't walk on it, which is understandable. But we got her to run with her and I need ways to get her to strengthen her leg so that I can eventually run with her. Shes an Airedale... so shes not small. But can anyone please help?!

Hello all,

I am a young disabled adult and have recently had to move back in with my parents so they can help me .They are wonderful and love having me but it causes a strain on them and I feel like a burden and would like to be independant ( I tried it for 2 years and it did not work).

I trained my mini dachshund from a puppy and she and my old labrador are generally very good, but since I have been home during the day and trying to take them for the occasional walk (hard!) she has been barking all through the night , every night, and driving everybody mad!

my parents need their sleep (they are nearly 60 and still work - maybe a bit to look after me) and it is causing a problem. She is very well trained in every other way but so loud all night!

what should I do people?

My aussie has been chewing on her back right above her tail. She has no fleas. I changed her feed to Science Diet about 4 months ago and it helped with her coat and chewing. But now she is starting to get worse again.
the vet put her on steroids before but I don't really want to do that again. Can someone suggest a good food that they have had luck with? I also heard that Science Diet was corn based and that it might be causing some allergies as well.

Thanks Ya'll Mikes3028

I just checked the package for Theobromine, which is poison to dogs, and it isn't listed. I'm not sure if its under some other name...

He's gotten into a whole bag of oreos before...and ate the whole thing and nothing ever happened to him.

He's a Black Lab, he weighs about 110 lbs, he's 7 years old...please someone help me, I'm so worried.

I have a 7 year old westie that is an alpha type character. He get 's along fine with most dogs and has never been in a fight. Do any of you westie owners see a problem introducing a new dog to the household or is it no big deal ? I just would hate myself if I got another dog and my westie decided he still wants his own yard .

Help! I have a Male Siberian Husky that will not come inside the house. He will bark at the door to come in but when you open the door for him he will run away. He does this 5 or 6 times before we either get tired of it and have to chase him around the yard to bring him in or he gets tired of barking and goes and lays down. The problem is that he barks and barks and barks if we don't let him in. I have tried treats and positve reinforcement. I've tried being strict. I've tried giving him treats. Nothing seems to work. Now I have to open the door and leave it open so he'll come in whenever he wants...the problem is that I'm in Canada and it's the dead of winter. What should I do?

I have a 7 week old Yorkie and he has the habit of biting everything. When I hold him he bites me ( even though it doesn't hurt because his teeth are barely coming out) but I just want to put in end to that habit before it gets worst. So is there anything I can do? or is that common with most pups? As you can see I'm a newbie when it comes to taking care of a pup..=/

I have a few razors and some rubbing alcohol. My pastor says that animals can't really feel anything, but I don't know if I have to legally go to a vet to do this. The process seems simple enough - cut off the dog's penis, right?

He is scheduled for euthanasia tomorrow morning that was recommended by my vet. I am feeling so sick about this. How do I know if I am doing the right thing? He is a Chesapeake Bay Retreiver and his name is Max. He is 10 years old and has never had any health problems. I just feel so awful.
