It isn't just cocker spaniel babies that chew most dogs will chew when they are bored and puppies will when they are teething but yours has awhile to go before that. You have to puppy proof your home just as you would baby proof it. Leather is a natural thing for them to chew on so be sure that all your shoes are put away. Remember never start them on something now that you won't want them to have later.

As far a peeing when they get exited...............well again just like a baby they have to train themselves and their bladders. It is hard to say if this is submissive behavior or just an exited baby. Wait for a bit........don't get upset when it happens just think about a human baby that takes up to 2-3 years to fully toilet train. Be calm and reassuring build your puppy's confidence and the problem should take care of itself.

Good luck and enjoy your pup

Our cocker spaniel doesn't chew on anything but dog toys because thats what we trained her to do. She also grew out of the peeing when she got excited. She was probably about 1-1/12 years old..maybe sooner.

My cocker spaniel hasn't chewed on things when she was little. But yes they do grow out of peeing when they see you.

hi, i have self belief your soreness! I particularly have an English Cocker Spaniel and experienced an identical issue even as he became a domestic dog. It grew to develop into so problematic yet particularly it truly is in reality the age and he will ultimately boost out of it. My Paddington became so undesirable with nipping I took him to the vet. His propose became to easily sit down next to him and carry his scruff and carry him off the floor fairly very resembling a mom dogs could do even as choosing up a domestic dog. If he's only too heavy to carry this type only carry the scruff and substances a smooth tug. Even practice this even as he's being reliable because it only gently reminds him that you're 'mum' or 'dad' etc and meaning you're chief and also you do not chew the chief. one issue i could actual propose is the submissive position you reported yet you've made an mistakes there as you are able to be having him lay on his aspect no longer his again. even as laying on their aspect they are submissive besides the undeniable fact that the laying on the again ability next to no longer something to them so I advise you carry him gently yet firmly on his aspect even lay next to him and save him nonetheless. No talking or petting. There may be some whining from him and if his is as wilful as my dogs became even as he became a domestic dog you'll only could wait it out until eventually he's calm. ultimately he could even flow to sleep. i'm particular once his domestic dog tooth are lengthy gone it gained't difficulty you a lot and ultimately you'll understand he's not even doing it anymore. do not panic like I did and picture he will develop right into a vicious dogs. he's only being a domestic dog and getting to understand his way. My dogs grew to develop into into the biggest sook and does no longer damage a fly. have a good time with those useful domestic dog months and faster or later you'll even omit the nipping! best of luck Scarlett
