it's fine, it's not that fatal to a big lab like him. just to make sure though, do a checkup with a vet. i know a dog, who was a black lab too, who opened a box of chocolate donuts on the table and ate the whole dozen.. nothing happened to him but a thorough scolding though.

Well there are two factors to this.
1. The weight of the dog affects what will happen... just like humans taking advil. When you weigh more it takes more to take effect. The larger the dog the more chocolate it can substain.
2. Oreos are not exactly chocoalte they are more flavoring. Other products like chocolate dougnuts actually have a coating of chocolate.
3. If you think the dog ate enough to harm himself the safe bet is to take him/her to the vet.

Contrary to popular belief regular sweetened chocolate will only get a dog fat. Dark, unsweetened, and Baker's can be fatal to animals when ingested. I have this information from the Willow Vet Hospital from when my weiner dog ate a bag of Hershey kisses...foil and all.

chocolate can harm a dog. but it also depends on the amount of chocolate that they had. if a dog had alot of chocolate it can give them a stomach ache. they might end up with the diharria, they may even throw up(depends on the amount) so i would watch ur dog for awhile. also they will feel run down and really won't do much of anything at all

Chips in a cookie & just a few cookies probably will have him nauseous & off his food a day or two or maybe not. If he had eaten a whole chocolate bar it might be different. Just keep an eye on him and if he seems to be in pain or too lethargic, call & get him to a vet & work out payment later.f

sounds like he has a sweet tooth!
it wont be fatal. if he loves the taste of chocolate you should run to a pet store and buy him some carob dipped treats. tastes and smells like chocolate! but to be on the safe side, keep the chocolate up high. you dont want him to be sick.

Hmm a black labrador eating black donuts sounds like black on black crime. turn in your dog to the dog police right now because it is a criminal, that is illegal in this country so it will get you in trouble. but for eating it he will be puking chocolate donut holes because it makes itself inside the tummy.
