I don't want to be all scary or anything, but just make sure if she's into chewing her leash that it is not within her reach if you are not there supervising her. Friends of mine's dog ate his leash, it got stuck in his stomach, and he ended up having to be put to sleep.
ON a better note, chewing is completely normal. My dogs are 2 years old, and they still find things to chew on. A lot of people I have spoken with have said Bitter Apple is a great spray to prevent chewing, I haven't been able to find it yet to try it out.

Try conditioning her first (i.e. put her harness on her in the house with treats, take it off and give no treats; put it on in the house and play with her, take it off and give no attention). Whenever it is on, in your presence, she gets rewarded, when it is off you don't give her any attention, so that the harness becomes positive. Then after a couple of days of doing this, she will be happy to go for a walk on it without chewing it.

ask a trainer, they will tell you that harnesses work best on lead trained dogs and dogs accustomed to wearing collars(unless the harness you are referring to is a training harness for a particular bad habit such as jumping or pulling) please put a normal collar on you pup until she is well used to wearing one and then try the harness again later when she a more relaxed, more mature dog

It is normal for any creature to chew
on stuff around their masters house
even smelly shoes! But you should at least try to stop her from doing it.

we have an 8month old pup. she's gone thru 4 retractable leashes and 2 leads. so we got her a gentle leader. it goes around the muzzle and back of the head near the ears and you hook the lead under the chin. she can still eat play bark whatever, she just cant grab the lead. and walking her is a miracle!

Spray the leash with sour apple spray. This can be purchased at any vet or pet supply. It works, but you must respray reguarly. It cured my malemute.
