I recently posted a question regarding the jack russell/min pin mix I intend to create in the near future. In it I clearly specified that I will allow only ONE litter and I can personally guarantee that each new dog will have a secure home in my family, where they will not be bred. No one getting a dog would have gotten one otherwise. They only want a dog because it is a product of my two little sweeties. I am depriving no shelter dog of a home. I specified that they will not be put in a show ring or be given to anyone I don't know. I am positive that none of them nor their descendants will end up in a shelter. I made all of these things clear in the process of asking my question, yet I still received a slew of criticism from people who apparently neglected to read my question in it's entirety. Less than ½ even answered my actual question. If anyone has a logical reason why I shouldn't breed my dogs please feel free to im or email me I am open minded and would love to hear it.

The thunderstorm/tornado season is approaching and during thunderstorms my dog gets extremely nervous. She either sits and shakes like a leaf or paces around. The vet called in a prescription for Xanax for her that she can take before and during a storm but before I pick it up I'm wondering if anyone's had any luck with anything else. She's diabetic and on insulin & I'm sure the Xanax is safe but I really hate to start her on another med if it's not necessary.

I have a one year old jack russell female. I have always wanted to breed her, but my sister and I just recently decided to breed her with my sister's seven year old miniature pinscher. We love the parents very much and every puppy has a guaranteed home in our family. My female, Phoebe will be in her third heat next may, when she will be turning two. Being that she goes into heat every eight months and normal gestation for a dog is nine weeks, options we are considering for the puppies births are early August when phoebe is 3 (just before I go back to school), and early April when Phoebe will be almost 3 (this way I would have the summer with them, but possibly not be home for the birth, and I would be at school until about 3:00 for the first two months of their lives. Also, right after that summer, I will be going to college). Neither option is perfect, but these are the only feasible options.

I just read a Q&A mentioning they should be the same size and now I am worried that he is too big. Should I be concerned...the owner of the female did not mention anything to me but she did like my male yorkie. He is very handsome and I think he will have a great litter. He is current on all shots and healthy...my vet is aware that I have been looking to breed him. Any advice on the size issues? This is my first time.

This summer is the worst my dogs have experienced with fleas.
There is an annual heart worm shot. Is there any hope of an annual flea/tick control vaccination in the future?
