A rottweiler could tolerate pets if he was bought as a puppy and slowly introduced to them. Early socialization is key. I would suggest getting the puppy at about 8-10 weeks and getting him used to the household pets. The cats might not like the dog around but eventually they could get used to each other.
Be certain though that a puppy might chase and play-bite the cat. Since the cat will naturally run, it is expected that the rottie will chase it. It is not cause for great alarm.
For this reason, first hold the cat( one at a time) while the dog sniffs if and gets comfortable with it. Then when both are comfortable with each other(this can take several sessions- don't rush anything), the cat can be placed on the floor. The cat should always be supervised with the rottweiler until the behavioral patterns can be established between the two.
Good luck

lol my cat was almost 2 years old when i got my rottweiler puppy at 12 weeks old. the cat has always from day 1 been the aggressor in the relationship, she claws the dog then he chases her down pins her to the floor with his giant paw and licks her till she is disgustingly wet...and this has been going on for 6 years now....so if you dont mind a cat that smells like dog slobber then go ahead. over time we accumulated more pets.....he now lives harmoniously with another dog, 4 cats, a dwarf bunny, 2 chickens and a duck ( the chickens and duck are outside)...and when hes in the yard the duck rides around on his back.

Whatever u do don't listen to "schoolgirl" There are no bad dogs only bad owners. I had a rottie for 12 years (put to sleep jan 06) I also have a 6 year great dane, min.dach, min. schn. and a beagle mix that all live harmoniously together with 3 cats. All it takes is patience in introducing them. It will probably be harder for the cat to agree it's a good decision than the dog! Good luck and remember that, that is also what good trainers and training is for.

I had a rottie that was a puppy when we got him. The cats didn't like him at first, but he was very curious about them. He and the cat ended up being friends, but this dog had a very friendly nature and grew up with other animals. The best cat/dog relationship I've ever known was with our Australian Shepard, she loved all of our other pets!

I do not know of any websites, I do have a personal story. I have a 7 year old rott and a 9 month old kitten. I have had my rott since he was a pup and my kitten i have had since he came form his mommy so about 7 months. They have gotten along perfectly fine. Also my sister has cats and I take my rottie over to her house and they all get along just fine. You should see the looks I get when I walk both of my babies at the same time!!!!! Its great!!!!

If you adopt thru a rotti rescue they will help to match you up with a cat friendly dog, not every rotti will be able to live harmonously with a cat the same goes with danes and most other breeds

I rescued my Rottie from the pound and she LOVES cats. She does so well with them, they get tired of her bugging them all the time though! When I had my pregnant foster cat and she gave birth, My rottie always watched over the kittens and tried to mother them herself. We joked and said she thought they were HER kittens. She watched them grow up and would try to bathe them as well. Two still live with her (they are both about a year old now) and she still loves them so much. Its all in how you raise your dog. If you want to rescue (ALWAYS best when it comes to rotties because so many are being killed everyday) go to a good rescue, preferrably one who has their dogs in foster homes so they can match you up with a cat loving rottie. Good luck with your search.
