I know this probably is a DUMB question. I know that male dogs don't go into "heat" in the sense that a female dog does. BUT, do male dogs go through stages where they try to mate more than others?

Help! My dog wont go into his doghouse! Nor will he come into the garage. Every time I put him inside the garage during incliment weather, he starts barking and scratching the door So I have to let him back out again.

He used to use the doghouse quite a bit, but now he has just abandoned it. This is really hurting me because he just sits outside on the grass even during a rain storm!!! Help! How do I get him back on track!

What's your favorite breed of dog, and why? (And by breed, it doesn't have to be purebred. It can be any mix of breeds.) My favorite has to be a tie between Pembroke Welsh Corgi and Pyrenese Mountain Dog.

If the *4* ABSOLUTELY ****WRONG**** answers to the dopey "scruffy dog" question are representative.....HEL* NO!!!!

Borders do *NOT* look ANYTHING like that "Benjie" MUTT/MONGREL!!
NEVER!
Even if if it was totally UN-GROOMED for it's entire life!!!!

Nor do Cairn,Norfolk or Norwich or B.griffs or ANY OTHER PURE BRED dog.....because it was a fing MUTT!

Does anybody here ever know ANYTHING about *ANY* pure bred dog??????
duh?

I just want to know if my dog is the only one...but whenever me or my husband go to the bathroom our dog will sit at our feet and stare intently at us. He will even get up out of the bed at night to watch. Anybody else experienced this with their dog?

My dog (a 10 month old male cockapoo) seems to be fine (still very playful and active) but has not been eating or drinking as much as he used to. The main difference I have noticed is that he seems to be having a harder time eliminating (constipated), and I guess it's because he hasn't been drinking as much water- therefore he must be a little on the dehidrated side. I don't know how to encourage him to drink more water (I tried to take him to the water bow but that does not help much). Any thoughts? Is there such thing as a laxative for dogs (to help him with his constipation)? Thanks!

just yesterday i took my siberian husky to the National Pet Games Competition Auditions and they are having the real thing in may on the 19th i need to get my dog trained for the upcoming events
and i need to get an agility training course set i remember seeing one online where it said i can order by mail and it was a starter kit it came with the high jump, the weaving poles, the stop box and it came with a stop watch and some ribbons and it was all only for $35.95, there are no stores around here where they sell those things and all the webistes i find sell those items separately and for really expensive prices $600 to $1000 and up. The website i did find which had the starter kit for $35.95 is gone i dunno what happened to it i had saved the page to my bookmarks but it's not there anymore i need one that i can order by mail because we don't have a credit card so does anyone know where i can find an Agility Starter Kit for a cheap price??

thanks

Last weekend I bought a puppy for 125 dollars from a "rescue shelter". most rescue shelters I found only wanted 20-70 or around there but I really liked the dog so I drove out of the state to get her. Well she got really sick and took her to the vet and she had parvo and parasites. I knew she got it at the shelter since I never took her outside and the vet said she had to have gotten it from there too. I started her on treatment but today she passed away. Since I only had her a week would I be able to get a refund from the shelter? They told me if I had problems they would "be glad to hear from me" yet haven't returned my calls or emails probably because they knew and all her brothers and sisters were sold as well. I'm mad that they probably knew some of the pets had parvo yet still CHARGED people to take the dogs and said they were in "healthy condition". Even if they didnt know this was going on shouldn't they give some sort of refund since she died after a week?

Anybody have a chihuahua female that needed a c-section to deliver pups? How often or the odds that a chi will need a c-section to safely deliver. How many pups in average Chi litter? Born live? Considering breeding my chi female in a year- want to know risks and expenses, compared to other breeds. All my dogs &cats are spayed or neutered( dont need to add to unfortunate overpopulation !) but have had Sooooo many requests for a little one just like Sadie...3lb. long-hair chihuahua - really not in this for profit, always place pets in homes responsibly-just want to know expense and risk.Sadie has an unusually sweet and loving(intelligent people-pleaser !) temperment for a little one.Excelling in obedience and rally ( just for fun activity) to keep her active and channel that energy!

my labrador got his leg amputated exactly 1 wk now, my problem is really the healing process.. at his 3rd day, his wound got opened, the stitches are totally gone, so my hubby brought him again to the vet, and did another surgery so it was thursday last week, we got him on saturday, 2 days ago, another problem was it got opend up again, maybe because our dog really doing well and we feel like he doesnt care enough for the pain.. early morning today, i really can't decide what to do, i dont think that it would heal by his self coz i think i've seen the bone on his open wound.. i had the antibiotic, celebrex for his bones but i dont think that's enough coz it got open up again.. i need suggestions very badly.. =(
