What's your favorite breed of dog, and why? (And by breed, it doesn't have to be purebred. It can be any mix of breeds.) My favorite has to be a tie between Pembroke Welsh Corgi and Pyrenese Mountain Dog.

My favorite breed are Chessapeake Bay Retrievers. We have two of them, both males. One is a dark sedge and the other a light sedge. They are extremely intelligent and loyal. They are a one person dog in general. I have one any my wife has the other. They are also very protective of their property. They are very energetic and dont usually come out of their puppy stage until they are 2. They are excellent hunting dogs and show dogs. As their name suggests, they love the water and love to retrieve. They have double coats, so when the get wet, they are dry in a very short time. They also dont shed alot.
My second favorite is a Great Pyrenees, we used to have one but she ran away, and we couldnt find her. Someone ended up with a beautiful expensive dog.

My favorite is a Lab, specifically yellow labs. I know that for the color doesn't really make a difference in the temperament but I personally I like the look of the yellow lab.. not to say chocolate and black labs aren't adorable, too!

I love their temperament, their friendliness, the fact that they are so incredibly loyal. They are SO SO SO good with kids, my dog's best friend is my 2 yr old who believes he is a small horse. They're smart, fun, love new adventures, but also love to just lay around the house, too!

That's my personal favorite. I'm sure there are tons of other great dogs out there, too.

Gotta be the Lab!. We had a blonde, and now a black. They are loyal, smart, protective, trainable, love to play and in general, a lot of fun to be around. They are also widely used as seeing eye and epilectic aid dogs, and of course, were used at the World Trade Center after the disaster. Gotta be the Lab! (Honorable mention to the Mutt). And by the way, the best dogs can be found at the pound; it's worked out twice out of two times for us.

I love all dogs. I really love my Blood Hound though. She's not very smart, but she is very sweet and makes me laugh all the time. Like the night she got her head stuck in an empty potato chip bag and just walked around bonking into stuff.

I have to admit it, I'm hooked on cocker spaniels. The are small, but sturdy. They are clean, don't drool, adapt to their environment and are NOT nippy. They are not cheap to maintain: grooming and vets, but are worth every penny. Champ, Chippi, Rusty, and Pepper have gone to the Big Dog House in the Sky, but I have Molly, Bailey and Maggie. All of whom are cocker spaniels.
