Last weekend I bought a puppy for 125 dollars from a "rescue shelter". most rescue shelters I found only wanted 20-70 or around there but I really liked the dog so I drove out of the state to get her. Well she got really sick and took her to the vet and she had parvo and parasites. I knew she got it at the shelter since I never took her outside and the vet said she had to have gotten it from there too. I started her on treatment but today she passed away. Since I only had her a week would I be able to get a refund from the shelter? They told me if I had problems they would "be glad to hear from me" yet haven't returned my calls or emails probably because they knew and all her brothers and sisters were sold as well. I'm mad that they probably knew some of the pets had parvo yet still CHARGED people to take the dogs and said they were in "healthy condition". Even if they didnt know this was going on shouldn't they give some sort of refund since she died after a week?

I would report that to the health department and to NAIA and ask NAIA (National Animal Interest Alience) what you an do.
I don't know if they will return your money that depends what ou signed and how it was worded, if the money was considered a donation etc. Also you may NOT want a replacement from them for a while. Parvo is a hard thing for a shelter to get rid of and I wouldn't take a dog from them for a while. Another place to report it of course would be the local newspaper to the shelter.

It does sound like they are avoiding you, don't it?

I think that they know all about it and don't give a damn cause they are in the business to make money.

I would report it to the licensing board in the animal control dept. Have the authorities handle it. Call a rescue mission or humane society. This person needs to be put out of business.

A good example of a Puppy Mill and Back Yard Breeder. Do as much as you can to bring this to the notice of someone or dept. that can and will do something about it.

Think back to when your were there, what did you hear, smell or see that was dirty (pens, grounds, personnel), smelly, nasty, out of place or wrong in your opinion. Let someone know what this breeder is doing. It is wrong and is punishable by law.

Okay since they seem to be avoiding you ,leave this message on their voice mail . If I do not hear from you within the next 2 days I will be contacting the local media and exposing you for the crooks you are . I guarantee you will hear from them if you dont then do it and let them know exactly what you told us on here . I think they should at least refund half of your money . I am sorry for your loss . It is hard when you loose a dog or any animal. good luck to you .
