I agree every goood breeder has to start somewhere. i have been a breeder/show etc for many years! The fertile period can last about five days and may begin approximately nine to ten days after the onset of heat. However, onset of fertile period can vary after the start of the heat cycle. Some females will only accept a male during this fertile period though others females may allow a male to mount at any time during her cycle while others are not receptive at all. But remember, fertile periods can vary dog to dog. and it is very normal for a female to still be ready/bleeding till her heat cycle is over. Honestly i would allow her atleast another breeding or two to make the chances of conception higher. hope this helps you!

If she was breed on the 25 and they did tie, then she should have her puppies around April 19th. give or take a few days. She should have been in her prime around the 12th day of her heat cycle Wait a day then breed her again. I hope your female was 2 years old and the male was a year old. You didn't state that part. Good luck to you and your dog.

Yes, just because you bred her doesn't mean her heat cycle is over.
If you really want pups then I suggest you bring her back for another session with the male with in a day or 2.
Also just because you bred her and they tied doesn't mean she is pregant either. Mother nature sometimes plays dirty games on us and a mating doesn't produce pups.
I've had this happen to me and any good breeder will tell you this has happened to them also.
Female heat cycle is 3 weeks.

Yeah give it a little bit. She is still in heat and there is no real guarrentee she is pregnant. Dogs usually mate several times.

Yes. But why would you breed your dog without even knowing the basics? Please, get your dog fixed. Dogs should ONLY be bred to improve the breed. But, don't believe me, believe the AKC and the Husky Parent Club.
How shameful - another BYB. Sigh.

She will be in heat for a whole week.. make sure other males arent around cuz she can also get pregnant by them too!... she could have many different male's babies... does that make sense?? I hope this was helpful... if you ever want a bigger litter have them mate more than once!
