scruffy dogs?

Question

I'm wanting to adopt a dog, and i really want a dog that's scruffy..and looks like Benji. Benji is a mixed breed dog, but know that there is a pure breed out there that is scruffy like that...any one have anyidea what it is?

Why not take a look at border terriers? They are amazingly cute and very scruffy! Or theres the Affenpinscher, another 'scruffy' breed. Or just any dog that is wire-haired.

I think you're thinking of the Norfolk Terrier (most likely), the Otter Hound (second most likely), or the Glen Of Imaal Terrier (third most likely).

Other breeds that may interest you: Cairn Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Lakeland Terrier, Briard, and the Brussels Griffon.

Since I don't know wat a benji looks I could give you some personel reccomondations:

Border Terriers: loads of scruffieness there! They are medium-small size and are extremly cute

Jack russel terriers (parson or broken coat type): These dogs have lots of energy so they need a woner who will give them daily walks and runs as well as some obedience training. They are not generally great with kids though some are.

Lakeland, Aridale, and Welsh terriers are medium to large terriers with wiery, scruffy fur. They need special grooming though because of their coat.
