Three weeks ago, we got a 7 month old black lab puppy. He's been fed Purina Puppy Chow all his life, and I know it's not considered a good food for dogs. I bought a bag of Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul for him, but then I realized the store doesn't sell the large breed formula that the company makes. Should I switch to a large breed puppy food? I'm considering Nutro Natural Choice. (I haven't opened the Chicken Soup brand yet.) Help!

I have a 10 month old Boxer, and all the sudden he is urinating non stop. I have to let him out at least once an hour, or he will uncontrolably start running around the house and peeing! He is 100% housetrained, so this normally isn't a problem. About a week ago, he got an ibuprofen bottle off the bathroom counter and chewed it up and ingested some, but he got through that ok. The vet said he should be ok. Now, this starts, do you think it could be related to the ibuprofen incident?

He's only 12 weeks bright but VERY determined. I'll take him to classes but I'm a bit worried he's going to be too highly strung & dominant for a pet .Will neuterung help? Had a collie before from a pup but only had him done for prostrate problems. He had a much more placid nature. Can the way you bring up a dog really alter their temprament?

i got a german shephard from a rescue centre, and ever since getting him he has a habit of chapping himself which has left him sore on his back and no fur, i took him to vets and he said he does it out of boredom which he started doing when he was in the rescue centre, he gave me medication but when they run out he started again, we have tried allsorts, has anybody got any ideas as it is driving him crazy and making him sore, apart from a sheep dip.

Everytime I go to take both my dogs for a walk (which they usually like) my Beagle always turns his back on me, and he doesn't want hugs any more. What did I do? Any suggestions on how to make friends with him again? P.S. Food doesn't work!?

Has been on two rounds of antibiotics. Plus hydrocordone for coughing. Vet says he wants to do exploratory surgery. This will cost 1500.00 dollars to see if she has a foxtail in her lung. In this day and age you mean to tell me there is no machine that will show a foriegn object in a dogs lung? Also what else could it be like congestive heart failure. She is nine years old. I had a friend who had to have there dog on lasix when it got older. She is 2lbs overweight and I have her on diet food. DO you think this could be the cause too? She still is eating fine and running around. What about steroids like prednisone?
Thank you in advance for anyone who might be of help/

My puppy does not eat all of her food in her bowl sometimes. At times I let the food sit there until she finishes it (which may be a couple of hours after her last feeding).
Should I let the food sit there until she finishes all of it or should I give her a couple of minutes/hours to finish it? And should I take the food away if it is not touched/finished within that time?

She's very nauseated. She keeps vomiting everywhere, along with constant drooling. The vet told me to make sure she gets plenty of liquids, but she won't drink just water. I have vitamin water but I don't want to give it to her because I don't want to make her even more sick. I can't get her to the vet until the morning. What do I do?
