Everytime I go to take both my dogs for a walk (which they usually like) my Beagle always turns his back on me, and he doesn't want hugs any more. What did I do? Any suggestions on how to make friends with him again? P.S. Food doesn't work!?

The beagle (2 yrs old) was the first dog we had and we adopted a 2 year old lab from the shelter a year ago to keep him company. He is stil eating but does not want to play or be cuddled any more. This started about a week ago. He is also hard to walk now. He always wants to go his own course. He is nutered, vacinated and wormes. He had a check up about a month ago and was fine. He doesn't act the same way with my boyfriend. So is it me?

more information is needed, such as the age of the dogs, who you got first, did this just start happening. Sex of the dogs.....

If you really want help, spend some time and give more of the story.

I'll check back and try to help you.

Get some one to watch your other dog for an hour or so and spend some time playing with him alone. It may be just the thing that he needs, some one on one time with you. Animal are kind of like people in that they need to feel secure too, and some times food just doesn't get it. Also make sure that you have him checked out by the vet to make sure that he isn't having any health problems. Some times pets behave strange when they are not feeling well. Besides you will feel better knowing that he's in good health. I hope it all works out well, good luck.

It sounds to me like a little one on one doggie love time is in order! Just take the beagle out for a bit without the other dog. Maybe he just needs a little rebonding with you? Good Luck!

Maybe the dog is jealous. Take it for a walk by itself and give it some special time alone

male dogs aren't as cuddly as female dogs. maybe he is growing out of it. i dont think your dog is mad at you. because dogs dont have human emotions. their dogs not humans. they live in the moment and simply react to a situation.

It is just jealous. Our dog was so jealous of our kitten that it killed it. Spend time with them.
