Hi, my beloved Dillon is 14 years old. He's completely blind in one eye (cataracts) and the other is slowly deteriorating, too. He had 2 cancerous tumors removed in the past 3 years so it was too much to have eye surgery. I know he's old, but I love him so very much, he is the happiest, most congenial, affectionate dog you've ever seen, honestly. He has a nice doggie bed which I put a king sized feather bed on, too, but he loves to lay on the couch. Whenever he wants to get on the couch, he always comes over and asks, I always say, "yes", but he still wants a confirmation, bless his sweet heart. Do you have any ideas of how I can make him more comfortable? I just love him so very much, and I'm just so sad because I know what's coming and I can't deal with it. Thank you for caring:{

She was at the shelter where we got her for three days while she was getting spayed and having a tumor removed and now she smells disgusting. She has stitches on her belly and back and I don't know if I can give her a bath. I can't reach the vet so I can't just ask him.

I have a 15 week old German shepherd who snatches toys and treats from me. Sometimes he does it when I hand them to him and sometimes just when I'm just holding something. I'm not really sure how to stop him. I pull it back when he lunges at it several times saying "no," but he doesn't seem to get the idea. I also tied holding treats inside my hand and not giving them to him until he stops trying to get it out, but as soon as he sees the treat he's snatching again. He bites hard and breaks my skin frequently. Is it just a puppy thing or is there a way to stop him?

Our daughter "accidentally" painted one of the puppy's nails red and there is a tiny spot in between his toes as well. He is an 11 week old basset hound...my new baby so I'm a little worried.

Hoping y'all can help me figure this one out! Thanks in advance!

my 7 year old retriever went in to get his ears cleaned out and when he came out his left eye was squinting i took him back and they said his tear duct quit working and it was common for old dogs i was wondering if it is common or if they might have done something to him and if there is another way to treat it besides the expencive cream they prescribed him they said he would need the cream and the drops for the rest of his life

I have a 4 month old shih tzu/bichon who is due for her rabies shot next friday. I am getting a new puppy of the same breed tomorrow. Can the 2 puppies play together even though they have not been fully vaccinated? Or should they be kept away from each other until they get their rabies shot?

I have a one year old half lab half pit named Tank. He is the sweetest, most hyperactive dog, and I am moving into an apartment which is a lot smaller than my current house. Me and my fiancee are deeply attached to the dog, but we work the same schedual 10hrs a day 5 days a week 8am-6pm. I have a kennel for him, but at my house my brother and sister are here through out the day and keep him out and play with him. At the apartment he'll be locked up 10hrs a day. Is that fair to him? I think it would be better to give him up to some one with a big back yard and family, but I also think he would miss me. I saved this dogs life. As a pup I gave him CPR when he came out and had to bottle feed him. I went to San Diego for a week for buisness, and he wouldn't eat, not even for my fiancee, who has lived with us since I got him. I need help. Im torn between me being happy and him being happy, and I dont know what will make him happy, but he can't talk to me about it. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks!!!!

There is a very scared stray dog in my neighborhood. I would love to take her in.. I have put food out for her and she will be across the street and wait for me to go inside my house. Untill she knows that i will not go back outside. She will then eat. But the whole time looking all around her. She is part chow i think.. But she is terrified of any human being. It has been so cold outside below 0 degrees. I feel so bad for her. How can i make her trust me?
Oops i forgot to mention i did get to pet her once. because she was sleeping and i walked up to her.. I know that she has had 12 puppies and someone took them in.

Lately since my brother and I have started school and my Mum (who my dog always follows around) and Dad have gone back to work, my little pomeranion has been really depressed! I also also have after school activities so sometimes I dont get home until dark and its pretty much dinner, shower, bed. And when we have free time we try to play with her but after 5 minutes she's had enough! I need help!

My dog got hit by a car and they are repairing his fractured leg with pins and wire. I want to do whatever it takes to save my 2 year old dogs leg , but the vet keeps talking about amputation even though he said there is a 85 to 90% chance that the operation will be a sucess and my dog will have full and normal mobility of his leg. He also has suggested we nueter him due to his injuries from being hit by a car. We had planned on breeding him. I can accept not being able to breed him I just don't want him to go through any unneccesary pain and agony. If he needs amputation I just wish the vet would be straight with me now so we can get on the road to recovery. It breaks my heart to see my Scrappy in so much pain and hes been in the hospital for 4 days now and most likely will be there 5 more. Our family loves him so much we can't imagine life without him, but I am worried about him. I hope someone can help me out and relieve some of the worries and questions I have. I want him well.

Ok, I have asked the question "How do I fix my pittbulls fearful aggression?"
I have to state to those of you who read my details before I forgot to add that she has NEVER, and I mean never has shown any aggression towards children or other dogs. She only gets strange (cowering and whining) when someone approaches her whom she does not know. If they leave her alone she treats them like family after a few short minutes. I'm wondering, how to fix her introduction behavior.

Sometimes when I am petting my dog, he puts his paw up on my arm or hand. At first I thought he was hurt, but he's fine, and he does this with both paws. Sometimes he'll come up to me while I'm sitting down and do it. It's almost like a hug. Is he just trying to get attention, or does this mean something more?
