Been reading about cutting flea collar up and suck into vacuum bag to kill the fleas. After all some collars put highly flamable warning in the package.

My dog is an 8 year old Teddy Roosevelt Terrier, she is well behaved, but about a year ago started going #1 (and sometimes #2) in the house. I took her to the vet and she checked out just fine. Our vet had no explaination for her actions. She now seems to go on the floor regularly and she seems to do it whether I am home or not. I've been around dogs my entire life and haven't ever seen anything like this! Any suggestions?

run away. I don't want to leave her there but I have other things to do, (it is at petsmart) is there any way she could get away from them. She likes to run away from people, she thinks its a game, she is still a puppy by the way. Am I just a parinoid freak?

I have had my dog since Aug, so he is still a puppy---a 100 lb puppy! He is a Newfoundland and not yet 9 mths old. He is shedding his puppy fur and it is near IMPOSSIBLE to get it out of my carpet. We are wanting to get hardwood to elimenate this problem. However, until then our carpet looks terrible with black dog hair everywhere! My vacuum won't pick it up entirely and neither will my shop vac. Any suggestions on how to get this up off my carpet! Help!

Whether from a trainer or from your own dog, is there a specific instance that you can recall that changed something about the way you train for the better?

I just got a 16 week old pug and he is just a little doll, but I don't know how often to feed him, breeding standards, etc. I'm used to shepherds, not pugs so this is a new venue for me. I just want to be ready when the time comes for him to breed. Also, what would be a good stud fee for him? He is a faun pug.

They don't do it when I play music on my stereo so I don't understand what this phenomena is. Is it because the piano and my singing hurt their ears or are they trying to sing too?

I just took my 10 year old dog to the vet she's been going to for the past 9 years. I realize she's gettin old for a dog, but he told me he is recommending a geriatric profile on all dogs 5 and older. Said something about checking blood, kidneys...etc and can prevent problems.
My question is whay all of a sudden does my dog need this? She was 5 like 4 years ago!
She's probably got another 2-3 years of life in her, so whats the point? I love her...that's why I was at the vet, getting her yearly shots and checkup. She gets heartworm meds and is in excellent health.
I just think it's a ploy to get and extra $100 bucks from me per year. Not gonna happen!
Anyone else's vet recommened this?

My beagle just gave birth this morning, the thing is she gave birth to only one puppy. It is her first time but is it possible for her to keep having puppies within the next few hours?
Also my husband's father made a little doggy house with a bed in it for her and the puppies to have a warm safe place... But she doesnt seem to like that space and so she grabed the puppy and took it under a motorcycle that is covered by cloth, personally I dont think it is a very good spot for her puppy but she doesnt want to move. Can some-one please help me with my two questions? Thanks in advance for all your help.

not long ago a close friend of mine got a puppy from the animal shelter. she had to go through a bit because she thinks the lady there was racist towards cause she was rude and didnt want her to have the puppy even if she has had a dog before that is now very old & has had since it was a puppy. however in the end my friend got the puppy. however yesterday the puppy slipped away the back door ( a family member accidently left it open ) and the puppy escaped. someone called the animal shelter and though my friend catched up to it( the puppy was three houses down the street) the shelter came and took it away anyways. She feels really sad and i am wondering if anything can be done to get the puppy back. i think she will be more responsibe with it after what happened, i even had to have my dog escape a few times for me to wake up and be more careful and i havnt lost my dog since. CAN ANYTHING BE DONE TO GET THE PUPPY BACK WHILE IT IS STILL ADOPTABLE?( my friend lives in salt lake city)
