It yaps persistently between 7 am and 11 pm. I find myself praying for rain because that's the only time there seems to be any peace. It yaps at anything that moves from fresh air, leaves, twigs and birds, to me. Nothing is done to control or train it.

Is there anything I can do? I think it is a nuisance. I have tried the polite way of having a friendly word with the neighbour but if anything it has made matters worse. Any advice? before I do something I may regret.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a dog hater, and I expect them to bark when there is good reason to, but not all day 7 days a week.

Im not getting one, but moving on with one!
Do they shed, bark or smell particularly alot? I am a dog lover, but have never 'met' this breed before.
Do they get on with other dogs?

however I also have a 20 lb.cat. he is also finiky, and wont eat hard food very much so I mix it with canned food. well the dog NEVER went near it,untill I bought "wiska's kitty stew" there IS something about that one that my DOG LOVES.she will watch until the cat leaves the dish and then she sneaks out to it and eats what is left. I NO from past expereinces that cat require taurine that is only IN cat food,I found this out when the CAT was eating the DOGS food. however is there anything in this paticular wiska's kitty stew that could HURT the dog...

We have had a 3mo old yorkie for 1 week. fisrt week just cuddly sweet. Since end of weekend started nipping. Got him lots of toys trying to redirect. My kids love to play with him with his toysand still hold him etc. I am trying to teach them to use a firm NO! And to reward with praise.(My girls are 3 and 6 son 7) My girls still will play and not always correct him. I notice the puppy goes for them immediately and not just fingers. Mostly elbows and tugs at shirts and pants. He has started to bark and growl at my 3 year old the minute she comes into sight. She is starting to fear the puppy. Is this normal play? does he want to play with them or is he afraid of them? Or his he trying to one up my littlest in the 'pack'They do want to hold him and awful lot. What do I do? I am trying to have them stroke him calmly while he is sleepy. Is he protecting me? I am with him all day and night. i'm mostly feeding him? Should I crate him? Is he bored/ (-degrees too cold for outside)

I have a fourteen month old white fluffy jack R miniture he is really cute. Some friends of ours wish to mate him with their *****, not sure what breed she is but she is slightly taller than the dog. They had not met untill a couple of days ago and we tried to mate them. But as much as my dog tried he could not get locked on, and his legs (bless him) did not seem long enough to keep both paws on the floor for long, he managed about ten secs a time maybe some tries were longer. We tried for two hours the first day and one hour yesterday, is he to young, or did we not leave them for long enough but he seemed knackered after so long trying. Does anyone have any advice on how to mate them, should we wait another six months when he is more mature or just give up. I am not sure if it because they did not know eachother long enough and because of their ages were slightly immiature (the ***** is 2 yrs). We are not mating them for buisiness reasons just privately.

I have changed the bedding many times -- fleece, doggie blanket, & plain sheets . I have also washed the crate she sleeps in (plastic carrier). She doesn't scratch during the day & is updated on all her shots and flea control..

My pit always growls "real mean" at my mother/stepdads pit when I get ready to take him outside or even bring them close together (70% of the time) and then when I bring one out of the kennel the other one will go towards the kennel and growl at the other one sometimes I hear them growl at eachother but no "mean" growls...it's kind of weird.

a new baby. My husband has had a rash, nausea, diziiness, weakness, difficulty breathing-all these symptoms-that have developed ajust a few days since we got our new puppy. He always feels like throwing up. Today, my son is dizzy the whole day, and has thrown up. I'm fine, but could it be that my husband and son are suffering from sever allergy symptoms? Or maybe it's the underlying strong 'hound smell' that's makign them nauseated? He's a very clean puppy. We bathe him, and always wipe him. Could it be allergies to his urine? We are living in a condo, he goes in an area inside our house, but the urine is immediately cleaned up. Immediately. What' going on? Will I have to give up my new baby basset hound?

It's a pure breed pomeranian who was dumped on the side of the road due to her legs. The hind joints are not locking into place. I would like to know if there are any groups out there that can help me pay for her surgery? The bill is going to be greater than $2,000.
