I recently got a very hyper catahoula Leopard dog and was wondering if he should be walked Immediately after I remove him from the crate or let him go the backyard, feed him, then walk him?

YES, walk your dog FIRST. You have to understand your dog will have pent up energy from being in that crate you want to rid him of that so a nice long walk will release that energy. You will then have a calm dog that can roam his new territory. Otherwise if you let him loose prior to a walk he will be bouncing and jumping around like a super ball. You don't want that. You always want your dog to be calm and in order to do that you have to exercise him. You can listen to some people who say let him loose first but a GOOD dog trainer/owner would tell you to exercise your dog before you introduce him to any new environment.

Let him get used to his surroundings first, and mark off some territory, when he is comfortable then take him for a walk
