Depending on the weight of the dog you can look for a variety of things i.e. small bites puppy, large breed puppy, etc.

You should only feed your dog a premium dog food - no by products, and no corn, barley or sorghum.

Steer away from grocery brands.

Fruits and veggies don't do anything for your dog. Dogs are decendants of carnivors - raw meat eaters. They are not omnivours as they would have you believe.

Fruits are hard to digest, have lots of sugar and may cause diarrhea. Veggies are just fillers, are hard to digest and tend to pass right through the dog.

Dogs actually eat grass when they have an upset stomach. It causes them to vomit, so if you INSIST on feeding your dog veggies make sure it doesn't have an adverse affect.

If you're looking for a treat again look for an all natural product of bones or liver treats.

anything but grapes/raisins, citrus, and onions. He can have most everything else. If he won't eat the veg. out of your hand then you can cook them up in a dog stew. Here is a web site that will help. http://www.i-love-dogs.com/dog-food-recipes.html

Are you committed to raising a vegetarian dog? If so, please make sure he gets his protein, because he's not getting it with fruits and veggies. he'll soon die on that diet. Petco and health food stores offer vegetarian food varieties for dogs and cats if you really want to do that. Poor dog.

dogs are carnivors (meat eaters) and they naturally thrive on meat in the wild... just because you are a vegetarian does not mean your dog has to be... think about it.... if everyone (including wild animals) wass a vegetarian... it would be a strange world... think about a lion or a shark becoming a vegetarian... same as dogs... what kinda life would a dog have if he never got to experience his natural instinct to eat meat... chew on a raw hide... or eat their tasty little liver treats... your dog will be healthier and happier if you choose a high quality meat based dog food... but if you insist... they have vegetarian dog foods at petsmart and petco...
