I do think mine can.
One night, 3 years back, I decided to walk a new route with my dog. While I was walking past a vacant house, he stopped suddenly and stared hard at one part of the house for a few minutes. Then he bolted away from the house with tail b/w the legs. And I had to hold the leash tightly because he almost ran onto a busy road.
Needless to say, that's the last time I ever walk past that house with my dog. And the house is still vacant.
They do say children are more senstive to the negative energies in the air, so if you want to check a new house out, bring a young child or dog along.

Oh yes ...... Many years ago my dog stood up on her hind legs and leaned against an invisible force in our sitting room wagging her tail, from that day she used to play as if someone was throwing a ball for her around the room. It didn't trouble me. We've moved now but she always looks at someone sitting on the couch or walking to the kitchen when it's time for bed. Sometimes the person bounces a ball (I assume), because her head is fixed on something going up and down. she doesn't get upset or scared so I'm happy for her. It doesn't affect my other dog.
If my dogs hair stood on end - It would scare me a lot.

dogs can sense spirits i do not beleive they actually see more than we do but they can sense the difference in the atmosphere, its the dogs survival instinct if it senses something it cant see or its owner is unaware of then the dog does react either by hair on end or sitting and whimpering, or just getting hackles up and barking crazy at what looks like a blank wall to us, its also said that pigs can see wind thats why their ears grow over their eyes, because if they cant sheild their eyes in the wind they go mad (i really dont know if the latter is true as ive never seen a pig in wind , but i have seen a dog go crazy at nothing)

I definitely think that animals can see the spiritual. Just think of the story in the bible:
While Balaam and two of her servants were riding their donkeys, an angel stood in the road to stop them. The donkey saw the angel standing with a sword in the road and walked into a field to keep from running into it.
Balaam hit the donkey to get her back on the road. But the angel stood in Balaam's way and there were walls to his right and left. When the donkey saw the angel, she ran into the wall and smooshed Balaam's foot against it so he hit her again.
The angel walked a bit and stood in a narrow place where the donkey wouldn't be able to turn at all. When the donkey saw the angel, she fell down. This made Balaam so mad that he hit the donkey with a stick.
Then God made the donkey talk and she said, "What did I do to you to make you hit me three times?"
Balaam answered, "You teased me! I wish I had a sword so I could kill you."
The donkey said, "Aren't I your donkey which you rode ever since I was yours? Did I ever want to ride you?"
"Well, no," said Balaam.
Then God let Balaam see the angel standing in the road with a sword. Balaam bowed his head and fell flat on his face.
The angel said, "Why did you hit your donkey three times? Look, I was trying to stop you because you weren't doing what I wanted you to do. Your donkey saw me and got you out of the way. If she hadn't, I would have killed you and let her live."

I think dogs can. When I was about 12 we went on holiday and stayed in this really weird little cottage in the middle of nowhere.
Odd stuff happened like things moving in bedrooms when you weren't in them, car alarms going off but no-one being around, strange noises from upstairs when you were downstairs etc.
Anyway back to the point-our dogs would sometimes stand up and growl and move their heads like they were watching something moving in the room but we couldn't see anything.

Dogs can sense beta waves. That means that they can predict earthquake's and can tell when a person is sad or sick. Unlike cats who adore negative energies, dogs hate them. An example is when a cat rubs her head on a part of the body that means that is emitting beta waves. Dogs are very intelligent creatures, they have a very sensitive nose, and can see very good despite the fact that they cant see in colors. When some one dies, is not a very pleasant moment. So u see negative energy is transmitting

Dogs have a good sense of humour, he's winding you up. How else are you meant to pass the day as a dog between eating and licking ones self?

NO, stop watching horror movies. Dogs have a great sense of many things, but they do NOT SEE dead people.

There are two implicit questions:
Does dead people walk over there?--- No
Does dogs have an special sense?-- No.
My dog barks to fire works and it doesn't mean that has any special perception.
