I have two pit bulls. All they want to do, outside of the back fence, is start fights or chase cats. No matter how many times i tell them "NO," theyre still very aggressive towards other animals. I know its in their geans to be that way, but is there any way i can get them to just be cool around other animals? They dont fully comprehend that Im their leader. How can I get them to behave all the time?

(She is 10 months old now). She today she has started having problems with bowel movement. She usaully goes 3 times a day but today she struggled but still went. Any ideas what might be wrong with her?

Our dog had five puppies. The largest seemed to stop gaining and looked smaller than usual the past couple of days. He has lost ground. We discovered that his little mouth was glued together with dried milk and he evidently had not been nursing because he could not. We "unstuck" his mouth but he is weak and will not nurse. We purchased puppy milk replacer but he will not take from a bottle. He constantly cries like he is in pain - his little belly is bloated and he is getting weaker. I gave him water with a little sugar and he will take a little from a spoon. In our small town there is not a late night vet clinic. Anyone with any suggestions we would appreciate it since it is 12 hours until the vet clinic opens and I am afraid he will not survive. Please help with suggestions if you have knowledge of this kind of problem. We are owners of both parent dogs and this little puppy is my daughter's favorite. Thank you for any help. These are small dogs -mom 17 lbs./pop 24 lbs.

I was wondering:
I was informed that if a puppy is found to have Kennel Cough and is treated while in the process of being vaccinated for (example the 8week puppy vaccination) that the treatment for Kennel Cough counters the puppy's vaccinations and in fact the puppy should be treated for the Kennel Cough and a wait period of 10 day after the vet clears the Kennel Cough only then should the pup receive puppy vaccinations. I wonder if anyone can help clear and verify this info in literature or sites I can research this information. The help is greatly appreciated.

Lucy is a mix actually, and we think she's around 3. Healthy according to our vet, but she will eat pretty much anything. (No grapefruit peels!) Dietary problem?

my dog is pregnant and this is the first time i've had a pregnant dog...but i'm wondering how dogs behave when they're pregnant?
the reason i'm asking is because she's become extremely whiney. she usually does not whine, but lately she's been like that and she's only about one month along.

I have two female dogs that are not spayed (they both have appointments for next week to be spayed) and last week the 5 year old attacked the 10 month old. It took me ten minutes to get them apart because they were fighting to the death. They both had to have several stitches afterwards. It was definetly the scariest thing I have ever witnessed. We are keeping them seperated until they are fixed and then we are giving one of them to a family member. I was just wondering if they will still want to kill each other or was only this because they were in heat?

We came home from an overnight stay with in laws, and the male puppy had expired. We think he crawled behind the mother and she went to sleep on him and suffocated him. He had no physical injury apparent. I found him behind and beneath the mother. He was separated from the other 2 females. We were crushed beyond description. My wife cried for 30 minutes. Does this type of thing happen?

I don't understand why this is happening. It is February and in Minnesota; February could be the coldest month of the winter and we just came out of a deep freeze. Pepper was out in the very cold during the day and in the house at night. The other dogs I have are not shedding like she is, she is shedding like it is April.

I was gaven a 6 week old collie/ beagle mix. I know that is quite young to acquire a dog, but he is fine now and almost 7 1/2 wks old now . His Characteristics resemble a border collie. He is very short though. He stands less than a foot tall at the head. He is very very energetic. He has a million toys and he loves them all. He seems to "herd" us around the house by going after our feet untill we are where he wants us. I have never seen such a active puppy. Benni started "riding" his toys and bedding since his second day at our home. I hope that this is normal and he is trying to establish dominance and it isnt a clue to what he will make a bad habit in the future. And he is constantly nipping and biting. he wants to rough house all the time. Is this a clue that our Cute Little Benni will be a very very aggresive dog as he grows older? Maybe i should start training him obeidence? or is it to early? any advice at all will help.

I am fascinated with this breed of dog. They have a very disctinct look that I just love. I will probably never own one because of my love for the chihuahuas, but would love to hear stories about your Dandy Diamont.

I rescued this new dog from the pound today. She's great, except she snarls at our puppy if he gets too close or wants to play when she doesn't. I just took her home tonight. Our puppy is like 10* her size but I didn't think it would be THAT bad! As crazy as it sounds, I am totally broken up about it and don't want to lose my new dog. She's perfect except for the fact she snarls at our pup. Should I get rid of her?

We have an older Jack Russel here who recently/still might be in heat. We were told she was going out of heat soon and probably on her last week or less. There was an incident with our older Chiwawha male today and when we found them lets just say they were together. Our male dog usually is very winny and won't leave a female alone if a dog is in heat but he was not like that for the past few days and when she went up to him he smelt her and pretty much ignored her even sometimes walking elsewhere. We watched them but she seemed more interested in hanging next to him and smelling him than he did so we thought she was out of heat for he is never like this he usually won't leave the girl alone or stop crying if he is not with her. Anyway, we ended up going to the kitchen to get something for a couple mins and when we came back like I said lets just say they were together and seemed to be done. What are the chances that she could be pregnant? How can I tell? Was she in or out of heat? Thx
