Ok I have a dog she is part chow and part blue heeler. We have never had anyone complain about my dog in my town. (I live in the country and we have no leash laws here) These people moved in accross the street from the city. They have no clue what country life is, And the first day the are there tell me they want me to get rid of my dog because she was running around alot. My dog is entergetic. My best friend gave my this dog before she left out of state. when I told my neighbor I was not getting rid of my dog she got mad. Here lately I was rubbing my dogs side and she started to growl when I touched a certain spot. I don't know if they have been hitting her or not. But am very upset. Yesterday she said either I got rid of my dog or she'd shoot it or have her husband take my dog off. I don't know what to do! This dog isd my baby. I love her more the my boyfriend. Can you give me advice on what I should do?

I need some tips or ideas. Also, im not getting the pads.

Every morning at about 7:30. Continues until around 9:00. Couldn't call it a bark, sounds more like a bird chirping at about 130 decibels repetitively in two and three syllable chirps. I have a large machette but can not decide between the dog or the owner. Please help.

Whenever I simply take the vacuum out of the closet, my two-year-old goldern retriever goes crazy and runs into another room or some other place to hide. He's been afraid of the vacuum ever since we got him at 8-weeks-old. My little guy is nearing his 3rd birthday, and he still hasn't out-grown this fear. How can I get my dog to calm down?

Why is it that when I say that we want to breed our pug puppy when she gets older do people think that we are irresponsible? We are well educated, people who love the breed and want to take the time to do this right! My father breeds Corgi's and hears the same thing.

There are responsible breeders of dogs out there.

A few weeks ago we discovered that whenever we tickle our puppy near his breastbone, he starts to scratch and kick his back leg really fast. Could this be because the area is in pain, and should we get it checked out with a veterinarian?

Hi there! Our pug puppy (Petunia-named after Porky Pig's girlfriend since she snorts) has an outie belly button. This has been there since day one that we got her.

She goes to the vet tomorrow for the second round of shots, and I know they are going to say, "we can fix it when she get's fixed" but we want to breed her.

Is there anyone out there who had an outie belly button on their dog, and can it be taken care of without surgery.

My doberman puppy, Lexi, is about four months old. She has been throwing up for the last two days... then last night, she woke me up dry heaving and I tried to feed her, but she wouldn't eat. This is very strange since Lexi would eat all day everyday if I let her. I saw one of her teeth fall out, too. She won't even get out of the house now. Her tummy has been rumbling non-stop. Can anyone help me? What should I do?

hi,
at our request, as we couldn't pick up the dog (1 1/2 male shih tzu) right away, the breeder was going to get him neutered. the vet she uses, gives the dog a tranquilizer of some sort before putting them out.

according to the breeder the dog had a reaction (not a siezure, but not normal) to the tranq and they did not proceed with the neutering.
is this something that happens with dogs?
are there lasting effects?
should i be concerned about taking this dog who we/my family did fall in love with when we met him, but is not living in our home yet?
thanks.

I'm trying to find the site that sells a beware of dog sign. They are breed specific, and said "I can get to the fence in 3.2 seconds. Can you?" I can't remember what the name of the site or the company is.

I think my German Shepherd may be allergic to rawhide chews. I know that rawhide is dangerous to dogs anyway, but I need an alternative. She has no idea her Kong or her nylabone even exists, and I will not give her any type of bone. But, if I do not give her rawhides, she will chew the walls. Any ideas??

My 7 month old rat terrier felt very warm yesterday.... i know that when babies start cutting teeth a fever is likely, but does it work the same with dogs? He's been having problems with his teeth and is getting some pulled Friday.... What do i need to expect after his teeth are pulled? Do i give him antibiotic, etc.? How will he act? He's a pretty mellow dog, but is active enough to stay in shape. He loves people, will this change his amazing temperment, he is such a loving dog, i'd hate to see that change...

My husband and I adopted a Jack Russell back at Christmas. He will be three in June, and is fullly trained. However, he came from a home with no children, and we have three girls. He is loving toward them, but will only allow the girls to get so close to him or he snaps at them. Any suggestions on how to prevent this; how to make him more comfortable around the girls. We love him dearly, and just want to provide the best home for him!

In Dec, 2005 my 10 yr old Rott passed & in April, 2006 my 10 yr old Lab had to be put down. They both displayed the same symptoms it took about 7 to 10 days. Both started to swell up, legs included. They slowly stopped eating, dark blood in the stool & runny in the last couple days both started going down in the hind-end and would howl tryin to get up after sitting. They both began acting lethorgic and very much in pain. Unable to pay a vet at that time a drug Co Metacam paid for an autopsy on my Rott but do to the time frame 30 days after the resultes were not clear but modules were noted on her liver and the right kidney was enlarged. My Lab I got to the vet, a light brown fluid was pulled off from around his chest he continuned to decline and I had him put down. My vet wrote a statement for the Police stating (toxins could not be ruled out) due to the time frame and not knowing what toxin to test for no toxology was done. I've got to fine out, Please any HELP or answers. TY Naosbbo
